R.E.M.'s 'Green' deluxe edition in stores today

Green, one of R.E.M.'s most successful albums, is now available in a new two-disc Rhino Records deluxe edition to mark the 25th Anniversary.

It features the remastered original CD plus a disc of live performances recorded in Greensboro, NC on Nov. 10, 1989.

Certified double platinum, Green doubled the domestic sales of the band’s previous release and continued R.E.M.’s dedication to the message of social consciousness, as evidenced by the album’s title, which would go on to became a ubiquitous buzzword for environmentally friendly initiatives.

The anniversary set is packaged in a hard clamshell box (similar to previous R.E.M. reissues) and comes with four postcards and a foldout poster, plus liner notes by the UK Uncut Magazine editor Allan Jones. It will also be available digitally and on 180-gram vinyl.
