The Cranberries to release 33rd Anniversary Deluxe Editions of hit debut album this month

Originally released on March 1, 1993, The Cranberries' first album Everybody Else is Doing it, So Why Can't We? was an unexpected hit. 

“We come from a small town in Ireland where things like that didn’t happen, so it was fairytale material,” says guitarist Noel Hogan. More than three decades later, however, not only has their legacy lingered but it continues to grow. 

On May 22, 2026, Island/UMe will release the special 33rd Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the album in seven configurations with assorted editions offering extra content, including completely new 2026 stereo mixes by the album's original producer, Stephen Street, track-by-track notes from the band, art notes from original designer Cally Callomon and photographer Andy Earl, assorted remixes, and Spanish reinventions of “Linger” (featuring BRATTY) and “Dreams” (featuring ANASOF). “It seems like it wasn't so long ago because we all have vivid memories of that wonderful time,” says drummer Fergal Lawler. “We went through a few false starts before we finally got to begin recording with [producer] Stephen Street in a cozy little studio, Windmill Lane 2, just off Stephen's Green in Dublin. We knew Steve was going to do a great job of capturing 'The Cranberries sound'.

Having hit the No. 1 spot in both the U.K. and Ireland and selling over six million copies worldwide, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? spawned two Top Ten singles - the debut lead single “Dreams” and its mainstream breakthrough follow-up “Linger.” Singer Dolores O’Riordan passed away in 2018. 

Alongside new stereo mixes by Street and the remix of “Linger” by CHVRCHES’ Iain Cook added to the expanded editions of the album are special Spanish mixes featuring two of Latin America’s biggest buzz-making artists. The bedroom pop stylings of Mexican artist BRATTY transforms “Linger” into a Spanglish-inflected ballad.

Noel concludes, “Flying to L.A. to make a video and Michael Stipe visiting the set; sell-out gigs; limos collecting us from the hotel… we just soaked it all up. The rest of us were happy to hang out in the background, but Dolores really embraced stardom. Everybody talked about how at our early gigs she’d stare at the floor or the ceiling because she was nervous, but she very quickly learned how to fill the stage and work a crowd, no matter how big it was. Dolores had a wildness and an attitude – ‘This is who I am, take it or leave it!’ – which people loved.”

Lord Huron to launch new season of long running PBS concert series 'Live from the Artists Den'; on tour soon

Live from the Artists Den returns to Public Television nationwide for its 14th Season with Lord Huron on June 1. The band performed to an intimate crowd at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse.

This episode was produced in partnership with Southwest Airlines, who flew Lord Huron fans to Southern California and L-Acoustics sound. 

The project of LA-based artist Ben Schneider, Lord Huron will continue to tour behind fifth and latest album, The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1 - among this writer's best albums of 2025.

Keith Urban tackled yacht rock classics on upcoming album

Keith Urban's 13th studio album, Flow State, is due out via MCA) June 12. It features collaborations with Michael McDonald, Little Big Town and John Mayer and finds the country/pop rocker covering such 1970s and '80s "yacht rock" favorites as “Summer Breeze,” “Baby Come Back” and “Just the Two of Us,” alongside original track, “We Go Back” (ft. Michael McDonald). Urban and Dann Huff co-produced.

On May 16, Urban will be headlining ACM Next Wave: Country’s Beach Bash as part of the 61st ACM Awards Week. Taking place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the event will feature performances by Flatland Cavalry, Ashley Cooke, Dasha, Braxton Keith and Tucker Wetmore.
