I really enjoyed what I was able to the band play (minus Brickell) in a packed tent at Stagecoach last year...
Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell announced new dates for their upcoming North American summer tour - the first for Martin and Brickell. The duo will perform new music from their upcoming album Love Has Come For You.
Due out April 23 on Rounder Records, the album features 13 compositions that combine Martin's five-string banjo work with Brickell's vocals. Produced by Peter Asher (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt), notable players include Esperanza Spalding on bass, veteran studio guitarist Waddy Wachtel and Nickel Creek alumni Sara and Sean Watkins.
The album also features bluegrass combo The Steep Canyon Rangers with whom Martin recorded his last album Rare Bird Alert. The Steep Canyon Rangers just won their first Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for the album Nobody Knows You. Steve Martin won the 2010 Grammy in the same category for his debut album, The Crow: New Songs For The Five-String Banjo. See stevemartin.com for tour dates.
