A long awaited return from The Avalanches

Sixteen years after the release of their critically acclaimed, award winning debut Since I Left You, The Avalanches return with their second album, Wildflower. It will be released worldwide on July 8 via Astralwerks and is available for pre-order now.

Created by the Australian electronic band's core duo - Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi - Wildflower includes first single "Frankie Sinatra" - available for purchase HERE on iTunes and streaming HERE on Spotify - as well as the just unveiled second new song: "Colours." The latter track, which premiered on Zane Lowe's Apple Music Beats 1 radio show, features Jonathan Donahue of Mercury Rev on vocals, who also shares songwriting credits with The Avalanches.

"Frankie Sinatra" has Danny Brown and MF Doom on vocals.

The video for "Frankie Sinatra" was directed by Fleur & Manu (M83, Skrillex) and shot on location in the bayou of New Orleans, drawing inspiration from southern swamp culture. Follow the tripped-out adventures of the carny locals at the county fair as they consume hallucinogenic ice cream and lose control of reality.

Fans who pre-order a digital copy of Wildflower will instantly receive "Frankie Sinatra" and "Colours." Exclusive limited edition vinyl is also available. All formats can be pre-ordered HERE. See below for the complete track listing. The Avalanches spoke with Zane Lowe on Apple Music Beats 1 in a world first interview about the new album. Listen to the interview HERE.

Since I Left You was released in Australia in 2000 and in the U.S. and the U.K. in 2001.

The announcement of the release of Wildflower comes after years of speculation and rumors, a situation the band addresses in this tongue-in-cheek video.

"What kept us going during the making this record was a belief in the day-to-day experience of music as a life force - as life energy," says The Avalanches' Robbie Chater. "Hearing a certain song on a certain morning can change your day; it can make the world look different, changing the way you perceive light refracting through the atmosphere for the rest of the afternoon. Literally changing the color and feeling-tone of your world."
