Out today: Final 'American Idol' champ Trent Harmon's EP

I was glad to see Harmon win on the show's final season and voted for him several times. Read more from the press release below about his latest music...

Trent Harmon scored mainstream attention as the reigning American Idol and continues the momentum today with the release of his self-titled EP. Available now across digital retailers, it was recorded with chart-topping songwriter/producer Jimmy Robbins and Grammy-winning producer Julian Raymond (Glen Campbell, Jennifer Nettles).

The project is layered with country soul-infused original tracks like his Season XV coronation song “Falling” and the Top 30-and-climbing radio single “There’s A Girl” in addition to renditions of his favorite hits from ZZ Top, Justin Timberlake and Sia.

“I'm so excited to finally get this EP into the hands – and ears – of my wonderful supporters,” Harmon shared. “This EP is a 'tip of the hat' to some of my favorite performances from American Idol – especially 'Chandelier' – as well as my current single, ‘There's A Girl.’ 2016 has been an incredible year, and we're working on a very special LP for 2017. Thank YOU for riding this wave with me.”

Harmon has generated an enthusiastic fan following with his soulful vocals and songwriting talents, penning “There’s A Girl.” The accompanying video, directed by Roman White, has tallied over one million views since its release. Watch here.

The Mississippi native’s impressive falsetto paired with his “vocally gifted” (LA Times) performances have already landed him an esteemed Grand Ole Opry debut and national television performances on both Fox & Friends (FOX) and Live with Kelly (ABC). Harmon’s rendition of “Dream Weaver” is featured in the film Ice Age: Collision Course. He is currently in the studio working on his full-length debut, expected in 2017.
