Fitz and the Tantrums tour news

I had a great interview with Fitz for the impressive debut album (see it elsewhere on this blog) and later saw the group live at Detroit Bar and Coachella.

I'm looking forward to the new material. Read on for news about added shows and more details...

Fitz and The Tantrums launch a North American tour today in Birmingham, AL. See below for full itinerary.

For a limited time, the band is giving away a five-song EP at fitzandthetantrums.com
The collection includes live versions of "Don't Gotta Work It Out," "L.O.V.," "Rich Girls" and "MoneyGrabber," all recorded at the House of Blues in Boston, plus "Breakin' The Chains of Love Brand New Karate World Remix."

The band - comprising Fitz (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (back-up vocals/tambourine),James King (saxophone), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), John Wicks (drums) and Joseph Karnes (bass) - is currently at work on the follow-up to 2010's Pickin' Up the Pieces, which spent 73 weeks on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, peaking at No. 1.

Produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83, Depeche Mode, Phoenix), the yet-to-be-titled sophomore album is scheduled for release on Oct. 9 on Dangerbird Records. Fans can follow the band's progress in the studio on the website.

Fitz and The Tantrums were named a "You Oughta Know" artist by VH1 and views for the video for the hit single "MoneyGrabber" have surpassed three million. You can check out the clip at various channels.
