Nation of Language readies 'Strange Disciple' for September

On September 15, Nation of Language will release its new album Strange Disciple. The B
rooklyn trio's latest single "Too Much, Enough" has a satirical music video starring Emmy-nominated actor Jimmi Simpson (Westworld, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Reggie Watts, Kevin Morby, Tomberlin, Adam Green, Ruby Wolf and many more. Previously released singles have included "Stumbling Still," "Sole Obsession," and "Weak in Your Light."

Listen to "Too Much, Enough" (Miss Grit Remix), Out Now via [PIAS]:

Produced by Nick Millhiser (LCD Soundsystem), and recorded in his East Williamsburg studio, the album sees Nation of Language considering the creative choices that would be most compelling to perform on-stage, for the first time. Incorporating more live drums, guitar and shoegaze influences into their arrangements than ever before.

Singer Ian Devaney imagines the sound of Nation of Language's three albums as different ways of moving through and experiencing through the world. Whereas 2020's pandemic-era debut, Introduction, Presence, took place in a car, with a blurry euphoria reminiscent of road trips, and 2021's A Way Forward occurred on and as a locomotive, inspired by krautrock, Strange Disciple is informed by walks on foot.

Track list:

Weak In Your Light
Sole Obsession
Surely I Can't Wait
Swimming in the Shallow Sea
Too Much, Enough
Spare Me the Decision
Sightseer
Stumbling Still
A New Goodbye
I Will Never Learn
