Coachella '25 News: Green Day to release expanded edition of 'Saviors' album in May

Green Day – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool – will reissue their GRAMMY®Award nominated 14th studio album, Saviors, with the (édition de luxe) out May 23 via Reprise Records.

Green Day have expanded Saviors with 7 new tracks in total, including acoustic versions of “Suzie Chapstick” and “Father to a Son.” Full track listing is below.

Released in January 2024, Saviors found Green Day teaming up again with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Rob Cavallo, who famously helmed Dookie and American Idiot. The record bowed at #4 on the Billboard 200, marking the band’s 9th career entry in the Top 5 of the respective chart. Saviors notably garnered three 2025 GRAMMY®Award nominations, including “Best Rock Album” and “Best Rock Performance” for “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and “Best Rock Song” for “Dilemma.”

Saviors cemented Green Day as the #1 most-played artist at both US Alternative and US Rock radio in 2024. Saviors also delivered three #1 Alternative hits—their biggest showing since American Idiot—and two #1 Rock hits. “Dilemma” became a juggernaut, ranking as the #3 most-played song at Alternative radio in 2024 and only falling off the charts due to recurrent rules. Meanwhile, their latest single “One Eyed Bastard” is quickly climbing the charts. 

Last year, Green Day played stadiums worldwide on their sold-out Saviors Tour. They continued into the new year, having just done venues across Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Malaysia. For the first time ever, the band delivered back-to-back sets of Dookie and American Idiot from top-to-bottom in celebration of the former’s 30th birthday and the latter’s 20th birthday, as well as performed new cuts from Saviors. The Saviors Tour marked Green Day’s biggest tour of their 30+ year career.

Next up, Green Day is set to co-headline Coachella this Saturday, April 12 and next Saturday, April 19. Blink-182 set late summer/fall tour dates

Following a 2024 tour that saw them headline stadiums, blink-182 is set to return in 2025 with a fresh run of dates across the U.S.

Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker’s Missionary Impossible Tour follows the release of their latest album One More Time …, the first album in over a decade with the original trio back in the studio. It features the #1 rock radio singles “Edging” and “One More Time.”

The band last took the stage earlier this year for a sold-out benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium in support of LA fire relief efforts – watch HERE. All net proceeds went to the Pasadena Humane Society, California Fire Department, LAFD Foundation, and ARC Firefighter Fund.

Arcade Fire reveal new album 'Pink Elephant' details

Pink Elephant, the seventh studio album by Arcade Fire, (Win Butler, Régine Chassagne, Jeremy Gara, Tim Kingsbury and Richard Reed Parry), will be released on May 9 via Columbia Records. Pink Elephant‘s arrival is preceded by first single “Year of the Snake,” available now across all digital platforms and as a video which can be seen HERE.

Composed of 10 new tracks, Pink Elephant is produced by Win Butler, Régine Chassagne and Daniel Lanois and was recorded at Win and Régine’s own Good News Recording Studio in New Orleans.

The term “pink elephant” refers to that paradoxical effect where the effort to suppress a thought leads to it being impossible to avoid.

“Year of the Snake” not only includes Régine’s vocals, but features her Arcade Fire debut on bass, and Win Butler’s debut on drums. The song’s title refers to 2025 being the Lunar Year of the Snake, which represents a time for renewal, positive transformation and new beginnings.

The visuals for “Year of the Snake” represent the creative outcome of a special project with the band’s longtime collaborator David Wilson, alongside video artist Mark Prendergast. The video follows Win and Régine as they take the viewer on a voyage in their festively appointed 1994 Ford Aerostar. From New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, to Houston’s rodeos, the viewer is pulled into a mystical quest, from carnivals to dormant railroad tracks and myriad points between. All roads eventually lead to Willie Nelson’s Luck Ranch outside of Austin, where they debut “Year of the Snake” under the full blood moon.

This week also marks the debut of the Circle of Trust app – a resource for Arcade Fire news, music, videos, early access to tickets, exclusive merch, and the premiere episode of Santa Pirata Radio, where the band speak directly to fans and offer personal insights and behind the scenes info on all things Arcade Fire. The Circle of Trust app features the exclusive release of the track “Cars and Telephones” and its accompanying video. This previously unreleased rarity is Win’s first composition that he ever played for Régine.

In the coming days Arcade Fire will announce special gigs in select cities where the band will perform Pink Elephant in its entirety prior to its release. Fans should stay tuned to the band’s socials for more information on these intimate performances.

Coachella '25 News: 'Lady Gaga is Life' illustrated fan book out now

Arriving right on time for Coachella Valley Music and Festival attendees to prepare for her headlining appearances for Day 1 of Weekends 1&2 is the new stylish book "Lady Gaga is Life: A Superfan's Guide to All Things We Love about Lady Gaga."

Following a successful 2024 debut, Goldenvoice Surf Club, the premier daytime event series, once again takes over the Palm Springs Surf Club across both of Coachella Festival's April weekends, April 12-13 and April 19-20.

The Surf Club, one of the desert’s most cutting-edge destinations nestled in the San Jacinto Mountain range, presents a stacked lineup of global talent, redefining the festival weekend experience and catering to both those ready to dance and those looking to recharge.

Sparks get 'Mad' in May, to tour U.S. in the fall

Sparks, brothers Ron and Russell Mael, have released “Drowned In A Sea Of Tears,” the new single from their upcoming album, MAD!, out May 23 via Transgressive Records. Physical formats will include CD, cassette, black vinyl LP, lenticular gatefold sleeve with blue vinyl LP, deluxe triple gatefold edition with red vinyl LP and CD (exclusive to store.allsparks.com).

The duo's North American tour begins in September, kicking off in Atlanta and wrapping in Los Angeles. Tickets go on general sale Friday, April 11 at 10am local time. A full list of dates is below with tickets and further information available here.

Following previous single “JanSport Backpack,” “Drowned In A Sea Of Tears” is a minor key mini-tragedy about the perils of emotional continence, of the stiff upper lip, of keeping it all in. The protagonist keeps her emotional landscape guarded behind high walls, and the narrator is unable to be her saviour. Unusually, for a Sparks song, there is no punchline, no twist in the tale. The accompanying video is a visual theater piece about a woman succumbing to her tears of grief.
