Eric Clapton news: classic reissue, new tour dates

On Aug. 20, the deluxe edition of Eric Clapton’s eponymous first solo album, originally released in August 1970 is being issued on 4CD and 1LP (standard black) formats, plus digitally. (The front cover artwork for the LP differs from the 4CD artwork illustrated above)

The album was previewed with the release of two tracks: "After Midnight" (Delaney Bramlett Mix) and "Blues Power" (Eric Clapton Mix). This collection also includes some singles, alternate versions and session outtakes. Pre-order link: https://EricClapton.lnk.to/4CD

In related news, the British singer/guitarist has announced some new tour dates...

Tickets for the shows below go on sale starting Friday, June 18th at 10am local time.

Eric Clapton’s band for these shows will include Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Sonny Emory, Steve Gadd and Chris Stainton with Sharon White and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals. The show will feature Jimmie Vaughan as special guest.

The newly announced shows will be Clapton’s only North American dates for 2021 and will precede his European tour, which was recently rescheduled to Spring of 2022 due to ongoing COVID restrictions in Europe.
