Iggy Pop 2015 concert film to screen in theaters

Cinema distributor Rising Alternative brings Iggy Pop: Live in Basel 2015 to the US on June 16+18 and beyond. The film shows the legendary artist performing a concert shot last October in Basel, Switzerland, at the Baloise Session festival where he was given a lifetime achievement award. The set features “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” “The Passenger,” “Lust for Life,” “Nightclubbing” and more.

This has been a busy year for Iggy Pop. He has achieved a first in his career - a #1 position as a solo artist on a Billboard chart. Post Pop Depression, his 17th studio album, was #1 on both the April 9 Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts with 18,000 copies sold. Many of his current tour dates are sellouts, and Jim Jarmusch’s documentary Gimme Danger, which looks at Iggy Pop and The Stooges, will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Iggy Pop is joined onstage by longtime Pop collaborator guitarist Kevin Armstrong; keyboard player Seamus Beaghen; bassist Ben Ellis and drummer Mat Hector.
