“Weird Al” Yankovic N. American tour dates

“Weird Al” Yankovic has announced his 2015 Mandatory World Tour.

Slated to visit over 100 cities throughout North America, Europe, and Australia, the tour follows the release of Weird Al’s #1 album, Mandatory Fun (RCA Records).

 

The album was released last July and went to #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart. This was the first time in over 50 years that a comedy album topped the charts, and the first time a comedy album debuted in the top position. Mandatory Fun has also been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Comedy Album.

Special pre-sales will be held at weirdal.com starting Jan. 27 at 10am local time and will go on sale to the public Jan. 30 at 10am local time.

The Mandatory World Tour begins on May 12 with a five-night run at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas. Dates are listed below.

Madonna’s 13th studio album Rebel Heart will be released March 10 on Interscope Records. Six of the album’s songs were released last month following a leak of unfinished cuts.

 

Upon their release, several of those songs debuted at No. 1 on iTunes in 49 countries. Two additional songs will be available with a pre-order of the album on iTunes on Feb. 9. Fans that preordered Rebel Heart in December will have the two additional songs automatically delivered to them. 

“'Rebel Heart' explores two very distinct sides of my personality, the rebellious renegade side of me and the romantic side of me” commented Madonna recently in Billboard.

 

The new album features collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Nas, Chance the Rapper and Mike Tyson and was recorded in NY, LA and London. Producers include Madonna, Diplo, Kanye West, Billboard, Avicii, DJ Dahi and Blood Diamonds, Ryan Tedder, Toby Gad, and Ariel Rechtshaid.

Four remixes of the single “Living for Love” were serviced last week to to DJs and clubs and are currently available on Madonna’s Youtube channel.

Björk news

Vulnicura, the eighth studio album from Icelandic artist Björk via One Little Indian is rolling out on iTunes worldwide over the next 24 hours. CD and vinyl versions will come out in March.

It was written, produced and recorded in collaboration with Venezuelan producer Arca and British musician The Haxan Cloak. Of the album’s nine tracks, six are written by Björk with two co-written with Arca and one co-written with Spaces.

 

Six songs are produced by Björk and Arca, one by Björk, Arca and The Haxan Cloak and two by Björk. All string arrangements are by Björk.

 

This is Björk’s first studio release since the 2011 album/multimedia project Biophilia.

To celebrate the new album, Björk announced intimate shows in New York this spring (see below). Presale tickets are available now. They go on sale to the public on Jan. 23 at 11:00a.m ET.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds announce their return to North America with tour dates in May and June.

I had all these people looking at me and saying: 'right, what are we doing today?' I was making the whole thing up as I went along."

Aerosmith concert coming to cinemas

Fathom Events, Cinema 1 and Eagle Rock Entertainment are partnering to present a monthly “Classic Music Series” to be kicked off by Aerosmith. 

Fans can see the rock legends on the big screen for a special one-night concert event on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. local time. It was shot at Donington Park in Leicestershire, UK, in June 2014 as part of the band’s “Let Rock Rule” tour.

The 19-song set list includes the hits like “Love In A Elevator,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,“ “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing,” “Dude Looks Like A Lady,” “Walk This Way,” “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion” and more. 

Tickets for “Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014” are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The event will be presented in more than 300 select movie theaters around the country through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. The first event in the “Classic Music Series,” “Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014,” will be followed monthly by a “who’s who” of rock and pop which will be revealed shortly.

Hall and Oates live release due in March

On March 31, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Daryl Hall And John Oates: Live In Dublin on DVD+2CD, Blu-ray and Digital Formats.

The first new concert video from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers in seven years was filmed at the Olympia Theatre on July 15, 2014.

It features the duo’s first concert performance in Dublin. Daryl Hall and John Oates dipped into their 40+ year repertoire of hits including “Sara Smile,” “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do),” “Out Of Touch,” “Kiss On My List,” “Private Eyes,” “Rich Girl,” “Maneater” and more. As a bonus, the DVD also features an interview.
