I'm glad to hear the band is heading back on the road. I interviewed singer Alex for the last album (see elsewhere on this blog)...
Since 2004, the group has sold 10 million albums, amassed 1.2 billion streams to date, 14 platinum albums, Brit, Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize awards in the U.K. and Grammy nominations.
Franz Ferdinand signed to Domino Recordings in May 2003 and released their first single, “Darts Of Pleasure” shortly after. Second single “Take Me Out” made international waves and was a precursor to their eponymous debut album which went on to sell nearly four million copies worldwide.
You Could Have It So Much Better (2005), Tonight: Franz Ferdinand (2009), Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (2013) and Always Ascending (2018) followed.
Last week saw Hits To The Head, a new singles compilation, released via Domino. Alongside 18 classics are two new tracks: “Billy Goodbye” and “Curious,” co-produced by Alex Kapranos, Julian Corrie and Stuart Price.
This past October, founding drummer Paul Thomson was replaced by Audrey Tait.
