Justin Townes Earle has signed to New West Records and is set to return with Kids In The Street on May 26. The 12-song set was produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, First Aid Kit) at his ARC Studios, and is the first time in his career that Earle has worked with an outside producer.
Kids In The Street marks a decade into Earle’s recording career and follows his acclaimed companion albums Single Mothers (2014) and Absent Fathers (2015).
Lately, Earle is enthusiastically looking to the future. “Life has changed a lot for me in the last few years,” Earle reflects. “I got married and am getting ready to become a father, and this is the first record that I’ve written since I’ve been married. There’s definitely an uplifting aspect to this record in a lot of ways, because I’m feeling pretty positive.”
He continues, “When I wrote songs in the past, I was looking in on what I was feeling, but this record’s more about looking outward on what’s happening, and writing about subjects like gentrification and inner city strife. This record also has more of a soul influence to it, and it’s got a deeper connection to the blues than anything I’ve done before.”
Kids In The Street’s opener, “Champagne Corolla” can be heard HERE. Kids In the Street will be available digitally, as well as compact disc and vinyl. The album is now available for pre-order via PledgeMusic including an exclusive, limited edition colored vinyl version of the LP, special 7” single including “Maybe A Moment” as well as Earle’s reading of Paul Simon’s “Graceland,” and cassette.
Several of the songs on Kids On The Street reference the lower-middle-class Nashville neighborhoods of Earle’s youth, which in recent years some say have lost their character to the creeping scourge of gentrification. Significantly, the album is the first of Earle’s not recorded in Nashville.
“It’s the first time that I’ve worked outside of my usual umbrella of people to make a record,” Earle explains, adding “In Nashville, if you have the right connections, it’ll spoil the shit out of you, because you’ve got access to the best musicians in the world and the best studios in the world. If you had told me when I started making records, that I wasn’t gonna make every record in Nashville, I would have told you you were crazy. And if you’d told me that I’d end up making a record in Omaha, I’d tell you you were out of your freaking mind.”
Earle’s fierce fidelity to his creative muse has been a consistent thread throughout his young life. Born in Nashville on January 4th, 1982, he grew up as the son of country-rock iconoclast Steve Earle, who gave him his middle name in honor of his mentor, the brilliant songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Justin quickly came into his own as a songwriter and performer, displaying a natural talent for deeply revealing lyrics that reflected his often-harsh life experiences, and a musical approach that effortlessly integrated elements of blues, folk, and country. His 2007 debut EP Yuma set the stage for a steady stream of acclaimed albums.
Justin Townes Earle will take to the road this Spring with his longtime guitarist Paul Niehaus alongside The Sadies as his backing band (they will also support each show). The full band tour will kick off with Earle’s appearance at this years Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA on April 28. Prior to the full band performances, Earle will perform a solo March residency at the Doug Fir Lounge located in his new home of Portland, OR as well as two solo, acoustic shows in Georgia.

Coldplay have revealed the June 2 release of their five-track Kaleidoscope EP, together with a brand new song from the EP, Hypnotised. It is available now on all download and streaming sites. Watch the lyric video, directed by Mary Wigmore, here.
The dreamlike ballad (described on Twitter by Chris Martin as “a new non-single from the EP”) will feature on the upcomingKaleidoscope EP together with the group’s hit collaboration with The Chainsmokers, Something Just Like This - and three other brand new songs.

The EP is the companion release to the band’s acclaimed A Head Full Of Dreams album, which has sold more than 5 million copies around the world since its December 2015 release, maintaining an unbroken run in the UK Top 40 album chart.
Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams Tour resumes later this month in Singapore, with further stadium dates scheduled across Asia, Europe and North America. show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. NGDB was joined onstage by John

Crowell, Byron House, Jerry Douglas, Jackson Browne, and longtime Dirt
Band member Jimmy Ibbotson.
Then
in 2016, the band released a live recording (CD/DVD) of this night
titled Circlin' Back: Celebrating 50 Years. The Ryman show, which was
also recorded for PBS won a Midsouth Regional Emmy for Special Event
Coverage at the 31st annual award ceremony in Nashville in January 2017.

Rancid and Dropkick Murphys have announced the co-headlining From Boston To Berkeley Tour, kicking off July 27 in Bangor, ME and wrapping August 26 in Southern California. The initial tour dates, cities and venues are listed below, with additional details to be announced in the coming weeks. Each night will culminate with Rancid and Dropkick Murphys on stage together for a joint encore.
The Bouncing Souls and Jake Burns open the July 27 - August 9 shows and The Selecter and Kevin Seconds open from August 11 - 26.
Tickets for most shows go on sale on sale Friday, March 10 at www.DropkickMurphys.com and www.RancidRancid.com, starting at 10:00 AM local time unless noted otherwise.

Rancid and Dropkick Murphys have a long and important history together. Back in 1997, Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen came across a copy of Dropkick Murphys’ original EP at a friend's house. He turned it over to his bandmate and Hellcat Records president Tim Armstrong, who quickly snatched up the band for his new label.
"Rancid is looking forward to hitting the road with our brothers the Dropkick Murphys,” says Rancid’s Tim Armstrong. “We will end the night with DKM and us playing songs together. Look out for The Bouncing Souls, The Selecter, Kevin Seconds and Jake Burns to be on certain shows.
Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen says, "It's a long time coming with these two bands touring together. There is so much history between both of us that it should make for a great tour. We look forward to seeing all of our friends and family out there."
Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey comments, "This is a dream come true for Dropkick Murphys. Hopefully all the people coming to the shows will feel the same way. Rancid gave us our break - Tim signing us to his label, Lars producing our early albums...so much history and great memories. Now, literally sharing the stage together every night. Lovely Creatures is a comprehensive overview of the recorded work of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. It spans 30 years of music from their debut album From Her To Eternity through to Push The Sky Away - their 15th studio album.
Included are long-standing live favorites “Stagger Lee” and “The Mercy Seat”, their hit single from 1995 “Where The Wild Roses Grow” through to recent fan favourites “Jubilee Street” and “We No Who U R”. There are songs that newcomers may only know from their appearance on film and television soundtracks, notably “O Children” (Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt. I) and the ubiquitous “Red Right Hand”, most recently familiar to fans of the series Peaky Blinders.
The album was compiled by Nick Cave and founding member Mick Harvey, with help from the current Bad Seeds. Band members past and present raided their personal archives to provide previously unseen photos and memorabilia which have been collected into a beautiful hardcover book, along with a series of original essays. The book is available as part of the limited edition ‘Super Deluxe’ album collection that also comes with a two hour DVD containing rare and unseen archive footage. Lovely Creatures is available in four formats, all featuring personal and rare photographs of the band: Standard CD, Triple LP, Deluxe 3CD with DVD and the Super Deluxe Limited Edition package.
Lovely Creatures was originally intended for release in 2014. Since its postponement the band have recorded and released their highly acclaimed 16th studio album Skeleton Tree.
