Today, Cold War Kids gave fans another taste of their new album, LA Divine, with the release of a new track, "Can We Hang On?," and the accompanying video. The clip, which premiered on Vevo, was shot at El Porto Beach in Los Angeles- watch it HERE.
"'Can We Hang On?' is a hopeful love song that looks back with nostalgia on the good old days but is uncertain about the future," explains Cold War Kids' singer/guitarist/pianist Nathan Willett.
The band has also revealed the cover art and track listing for LA Divine, which is set for release on April 7 on Capitol Records. Fans who pre-order the album will receive instant downloads of "Can We Hang On?"plus the first single,"Love is Mystical" in addition to special limited edition bundles which include signed albums available here.

The band kicks off a North American headline tour tonight at the Okeechobee Festival in Florida. LA Divine, Cold War Kids' most expansive and ambitious effort so far, pays tribute to Los Angeles in all its strange glory, embodying the Long Beach-bred band's endless fascination with their adopted hometown. Boston-based singer-songwriter Juliana Hatfield will be releasing a brand-new record titled Pussycat (American Laundromat Records) on April 28, following the kick-off of a national tour that will start on April 23. "I wasn't planning on making a record," says Juliana Hatfield, of her new Pussycat album. In fact, she thought her songwriting career was on hiatus, and that she had nothing left to say in song form; that she had finally said it all after two decades as a recording artist. But then the presidential election happened. "All of these songs just started pouring out of me. And I felt an urgency to record them, to get them down, and get them out there."
Hatfield produced and played every instrument other than drums-bass, keyboards, guitars, vocals. From start to finish-recording through mixing-the whole thing took a total of just twelve and a half days to complete.
"It was a blur. It was cathartic," says Hatfield. "I almost don't even understand what happened in there, or how it came together so smoothly, so quickly. I was there, directing it all, managing it, getting it all done, but I was being swept along by some force that was driving and controlling me. The songs had a will, they forced themselves on me, or out of me, and I did what they told me to do. Even my hands-it felt like they were not my hands. I played bass differently-- looser, more confident, better."
Pussycat comes on the heels of last year's Hatfield collaboration with Paul Westerberg, the I Don't Cares' Wild Stab album, and before that, 2015's Juliana Hatfield Three ("My Sister", "Spin The Bottle") reunion/reformation album, Whatever, My Love (American Laundromat Records)
"I've always been prolific and productive and I have a good solid work ethic but this one happened so fast, I didn't have time to think or plan," says Hatfield. "I just went with it, rode the wave. And now it is out of my hands. It feels a little scary."
Pussycat is being released into a very tense, divided and inflamed America. The songs are reflective of that atmosphere - angry ("When You're A Star"), defiant ("Touch You Again"), but also funny ("Short-Fingered Man"), reflective ("Wonder Why"), and even hopeful ("Impossible Song"), with its chorus of 'What if we tried to get along/and sing an impossible song').
The tour will kick off in Hatfield's hometown of Cambridge, MA then head to Philly, Vienna, Virginia and to NYC's Mercury Lounge with more national dates to be announced soon.
Juliana will also be part of the Boston Stands with the ACLU show at the Paradise in Boston, MA on March 18.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Daryl Hall & John Oates, are partnering with international multi-platinum selling band, Tears For Fears, for a 29-city North American tour. The tour will kick off in May in Tulsa OK and wrap in Los Angeles at the Staples Center in July. The summer arena tour will also feature a special acoustic performance by opening act, Allen Stone.

Ed Sheeran has released his new album “÷” (pronounced divide) via Atlantic Records.
The multi-GRAMMY winner’s third studio album is available now on all digital retailers and streaming partners (full track listing below).
It went to #1 on iTunes in 96 countries around the world, including the US and UK. Lead single “Shape Of You” debuted at #1 and has subsequently held the top spot for 5 weeks and counting on the Billboard Hot 100. Some sure-to-be intriguing sounds coming from one of my standout performers at the recent Stagecoach Festival...
When Lindi Ortega went in search of some quiet last year, the award-winning artist was pleasantly surprised to find a voice she hadn't heard in some time – her own.
Amid sparse, atmospheric production, it's precisely this voice – a combination of Ortega's fatalistic perspective expressed with her evocative soprano – that grips your attention on new EP, Til the Goin' Gets Gone.
A dogged resilience permeates this unadorned collection – three originals and a cover of Townes Van Zandt's "Waiting ‘Round To Die." The songs are the hard-won spoils of an internal war with words that struck after an extended stretch of touring, addressed in the EP's title track about the detours and ditches that a traveling musician faces.
"What a Girl's Gotta Do," a song that is the silver lining of an otherwise dreadful date, explores the gritty pragmatism of making ends meet. Alongside the title track, this song offers a second metaphor about artistic life that strengthens the EP's overall sense of resolve. Ortega's somber rendition of "Waiting ‘Round to Die," acknowledges a personal debt – her recent discovery of the legendary songwriter's music is what finally cured her writer's block. The closer, "Final Bow," came when Ortega assumed she only had one song left in her. "I thought I had to quit music but I wanted to leave gracefully," she says. "But then I decided to get up and sing some more." As a whole, this statement captures the essence of Ortega's new EP – it's about dusting off, gutting it out, and getting up for another round.
Ortega recorded Til The Goin' Gets Gone in a converted East Nashville manor, where therapy horses linger on the property. Recording with her longtime guitarist James Robertson, Ortega satisfied a personal goal to co-produce, which she did with Jay Tooke and Jason "Rowdy" Cope. The small production team and minimalist instrumentation make an intimate, immediate setting for Ortega's stark vision of the human condition. Although classic country is an indelible part of her musical history, the EP also sets the tone for the next chapter of her career: "I'll always love Loretta, Dolly and Patsy. But I just want more space. I want more ambience."
Ortega's guitar-playing chops and innate country music instincts put her in an elite group of artists; she has earned an unusually inclusive type of success with both indie cred and mainstream country recognition. From supporting Carrie Underwood on the CMA Awards to her opening slot on Chris Stapleton's upcoming Canadian arena tour, Ortega is a sought-after and unique personality in Nashville's music community and beyond.

Following the release of two new songs, British band Ride have announced that in July they will be playing North American shows. The band will head to Toronto, Boston, New York, Philly, and DC for a slew of headline performances, with tickets available now. Ride shared "Charm Assault," followed by "Home Is A Feeling," the first new music that the group had released in 20 years.
Ride's upcoming album, scheduled for release this summer via Wichita Recordings, sees the band reunited with label co-founders Dick Green and Mark Bowen, who they worked with during the band's early years on Creation Records. It also brings the band back together with mixer Alan Moulder (Arctic Monkeys, Smashing Pumpkins, The Killers) who mixed their seminal 1990 album Nowhere and produced its follow up Going Blank Again.
After a lengthy hiatus, Ride reformed in 2014. Comprised of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence Colbert, and Steve Queralt, the band sold out headline tours around the world to a plethora of critical acclaim, as well as show stopping turns at festivals including Coachella, Primavera and Field Day. Paul Kelly, Australia’s preeminent songwriter, will spend the month of May performing intimate shows across America and Canada — his first concerts on this continent since 2013.
This tour is in support of Kelly’s 2016 release, the uniquely conceived Death’s Dateless Night, although he will also be playing songs from his award-winning career that has earned him induction into Australian Recording Industry Association’s Hall of Fame and, just earlier this year, being appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for his distinguished service to the performing arts.
Death’s Dateless Night, a collaboration with the highly regarded Australian multi-instrumentalist Charlie Owen, contains songs that they have played at various funerals. Featuring a mix of covers, traditional tunes and a few Kelly originals, the album’s vibe is actually far from funereal. The spare, stirring set has been hailed as a “powerful meditation on life, death and the mess we make in-between.”
Owen, a veteran of several Australian bands including the Divinyls, will be accompanying Kelly on this tour, which runs in May. Joining Kelly too are his daughters, Madeleine and Memphis Kelly. The two, who have their own music careers, both appeared on Death’s Dateless Night as well.
Death's Dateless Night is just the latest in Paul Kelly’s recent run of fascinatingly eclectic projects. 2016 also saw Kelly releasing the seven-song mini-album Seven Sonnets & A Song, in which he re-worked William Shakespeare’s love sonnets into songs. For The Merri Soul Sessions (2015) he enlisted a variety of vocalists to reinterpret his tunes with a R&B revue feel.
In 2013, Kelly teamed up with Neil Finn of Crowded House fame for a highly successful Australian tour that resulted in the live album Goin’ Your Way, which came out as a two-CD set and a DVD. Kelly’s most ambitious musical endeavor, however, has been his “A-Z” project. It began as a series of concerts where he would perform his set of songs in alphabetical order, and he wound up creating an eight-CD, 105-song live box set, which came out in the U.S. in 2012.
Critical accolades have followed Paul Kelly throughout his career. His 1985 breakout album Post was chosen Rolling Stone Australia’s Album of the Year. American music journalists started singing their praises when A&M Records put out Paul Kelly and the Messengers’ first three U.S. releases — Gossip (1987), Under the Sun (1988) and So Much Water So Close To Home (1989) — and continued on with Kelly’s solo outings.
Kelly has a special relationship with his home country, much like Bruce Springsteen has with America. His work is having an impact on a younger generation of musicians. When critic’s darling Australian artist Courtney Barnett was 16, her English teacher had the students analyze and dissect Kelly’s song “To Her Door,” going through each lyric and word.
The young musician had “a bit of a moment” with the assignment; as she would tell NPR, “When I heard this song, it probably opened up seeing stories in a different way and how they can develop. Such a simple little story can have so much impact when it’s drawn out. That song always sticks out for me because of that moment that I had with it that started a bit of a snowball of change.”
These shows offer a rare opportunity to hear this eloquent wordsmith in an intimate setting so, whether you are a longtime fan or a recent convert, you can become “a member of the family” too.

The Retro Futura Tour, revolving around pop, rock, ska and new wave acts that found fame in the 1980s, returns this summer, headlined by synth pioneer Howard Jones, with the English Beat, Men Without Hats, Modern English, Paul Young and Katrina (ex-Katrina And The Waves). The line-up will also feature Bow Wow Wow's Annabella on certain dates when Paul Young will not be on the bill. Electronic music pioneer Howard Jones' most recent offering is Engage, an entirely fan-funded multi-media project. It incorporates specially-commissioned visuals with music and an interactive live show. Engage is inspired by electronica, contemporary classical and pop, fusing this audio mélange with other visual and literary arts such as ballet, modern dance and philosophy. Engage was performed in London, Los Angeles and New York and is available now as a DVD/CD package.
