Michael Franti & Spearhead perform at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, Calif. as part of the OC Fair Summer Concert Series on Wednesday.

Tickets are $32.50-$62.50 and still available through Ticketmaster.

Here's the latest info on the band...

In late 2014, Michael Franti & Spearhead released the police-and-community-themed video for "Same As It Ever Was (It Starts Today)." As events have worsened since then with tragic outcomes in the United States, they have released a new version of the video, adding the lyrics onscreen to further illuminate the song's sentiments and urgency for change.

Franti recently spoke with Billboard Live about his inspiration to create the video and acoustically performed the song live (watch here).

Notably, a group of fourth graders at Roberto Clemente School No. 8 in Rochester, New York joined together last year - with the help of their teacher Josh Cornue and colleague Dominic Pickard who helped with audio and visual - to movingly create their own video of "Same As It Ever Was (It Starts Today)" with them singing all the words (watch here). The original post of video noted that the students "decided to apply it [the song] to their own lives in an attempt to spread messages of justice and peace with their school community, as well as the world beyond."

Michael Franti & Spearhead are touring behind latest album Soulrocker, - their ninth and first for Fantasy Records. It was co-produced with Jamaican producers Stephen "Di Genius" McGregor (son of reggae legend Freddie McGregor) and Dwayne "Supa Dups" Chin Quee (Bruno Mars, John Legend).

Of first single "Crazy for You," Franti says "The song calls out some of the crazy things that are happening in the world today and celebrates the people in your life that you can lean on, that keep the hope alive no matter what's happening around you. I wrote this song for my wife Sara, who is my rock and keeps me grounded no matter how crazy my life or the world gets."
