Matt Pond PA news

On Aug. 11, Matt Pond PA will release Still Summer, their twelfth full-length album and the second Pond is releasing under his independent label, 131 Records.

Still Summer is available to pre-order now on LP and CD at the band's online store. matt pond PA has also announced a fall tour (listed below). Watch the official video for "A Spark" from Still Summer at YouTube.
About the video Matt Pond says:

"A spark is a night of flickering possibility on a porch in Portland, Oregon. It's believing in the beauty of a stranger who disappears forever after the keg is kicked — the face in the crowd that for an unsettling moment turns the world askew in delirious bliss. Hope and regret are sitting side by side, sipping whiskey on a dilapidated train trestle in the back of my mind.

The video was intended to convey pure clarity within social chaos. The recognition of another human being, upside-down in a smoke-filled room filled with strangers.

During the shoot, the actors took their roles incredibly seriously. So much so that at a certain point, the film crew and I became a nuisance to their celebrations."

Regarding "Still Summer," Pond told NPR, "My first job was at a snack bar in northern New Hampshire. My first girlfriend was an ice-cream-slinging associate. After work, we'd split for the river on rusty bikes, resisting curfews and looking for something dangerous to do. Gasoline and matches never failed. I remember yellow-line tightrope-walking in traffic for no good reason. Even though our crimes were humble, every second felt like a serious thrill. Each glance and grazing fingertip meant something."

Additionally, matt pond PA shared his Double Freeture, which includes two non-album tracks "Skin and Bones" and "Sugar River" which are available to download now via SoundCloud.
Along with Winter Lives, released in December 2016 by 131 Records, Still Summer will be the last full-length album Pond releases as Matt Pond PA, though it isn’t nearly the end of the line for them. Over time, a new track or take will be added to each — this is the never-ending conclusion of the band’s strange musical tour.

There will be more music. Yet the serious ones say summer only lasts so long. Soon there will be new projects, different titles, unfamiliar names, unforeseen sounds associated with Matt Pond. As if the beginning and the end were one and the same.

Keith Urban concert special this Friday

AT&T AUDIENCE Network presents the concert special "Keith Urban: Live From Phoenix" on Friday, July 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT via DIRECTV Ch 239, AT&T U-verse Ch 1114 and on-demand through DIRECTV NOW.

The live performance and interview from the four-time Grammy Award-winning, platinum-selling artist was filmed on location during the AT&T Block Party at the 2017 NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Phoenix. Watch the trailer for "Keith Urban: Live From Phoenix" (HERE).

Latest release Ripcord marked the second time that one of his albums debuted simultaneously atop the all-genre charts in the U.S., Canada and Australia. He is the only male Country artist to achieve this mark twice. It was recently certified platinum and produced Urban's 22nd #1 song, his 6th consecutive, with "Blue Ain't Your Color."

Thus far, Ripcord has produced four #1 songs including "Wasted Time," which moved Urban to #8 on Billboard's All-time Country Airplay Chart, "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" and "Break On Me." It leaves Urban's streak as the artist with the most consecutive top 10 songs on Billboard's Country Airplay Chart (38) well in tact--a streak that started in August of 2000.

The Ripcord World Tour 2016-17 played more than 70 shows on four continents, in front of more than a million people. Catch the tour as it lands at fairs and festivals in the U.S. (HERE).

In stores Friday: the new album by 'Nashville' actor Jonathan Jackson + Enation

photo: Craig Hill
Jonathan Jackson + Enation will release their fourth studio album Anthems For The Apocalypse, co-produced by Greg Archilla, on July 14 via their own label, Hilasterion Records (distributed through Sony). The band will spend their album release day by doing two in store signings in Nashville. One is at the Country Music Hall Of Fame at 2:00pm and the other is at Barnes & Noble Cool Springs in Brentwood at 6:30pm.

Jonathan Jackson + Enation, originally from the Northwest, now call Nashville home. Jackson currently stars as “Avery Barkley” in the prime time drama Nashville, now in its fifth season, which airs Thursdays on CMT. He's a five-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor for his role in General Hospital.

Following Jackson’s solo dates with the cast of Nashville summer tour, Jonathan Jackson + Enation will also return to the road this summer playing select dates beginning Aug. 11 in Alabama (see tour dates below).

Their music video for “Revolution Of The Heart” recently premiered on CMT - Watch it HERE and was added to MTV Hits.

“It’s the most anti-political, political song I’ve ever written,” says Jonathan Jackson about “Revolution Of The Heart.” There certainly are good revolutions throughout history but many ended up being terrible and destructive, even when there were good intentions involved. Our world is more divided than ever it seems and the political climate is driving deeper wedges in society. Ultimately, politics can only offer some of the answers we're looking for. The deeper longing that I'm "marching for" personally is a revolution of the heart. It's an inner revolution. We need to first love each other and remember our common humanity. Then we can approach politics and work towards important solutions.”

The band also recently performed in front of over 300,000 at the 101st Indianapolis 500 pre-race festivities, performing on a specially designed rolling stage on the 2.5 mile race track. The stage stopped in Turns 1, 2 and 4 for performances from the group.

In 2014, Jonathan Jackson + Enation released Radio Cinematic, garnering them numerous radio and TV appearances including live performances on ABC’s The View and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live. The single "Everything Is Possible" climbed the Hot AC charts to #43 and helped propel the band's Radio Cinematic US Summer Tour, by playing to sold out audiences and earning high praises from critics and fans.

2016's Blame-Shifter EP debuted at #22 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart while their Live DVD, Jonathan Jackson + Enation: Live from Nashville debuted at #9 on the Billboard Music Video chart.

Echosmith news

Echosmith returns with their sophomore album, Inside A Dream, out Sept. 29 via Warner Bros. Records.

It marks the follow-up to their 2013 gold-certified debut Talking Dreams, which spawned the triple-platinum breakout hit "Cool Kids."

New track, "Goodbye," will be released this Friday, July 14, alongside the official music video.

Following the album release, the band will embark on a 6-week North American tour, kicking off October 5 in Kansas City, MO. The artist presale - with a limited number of tickets and VIP packages - will start on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. local time, while the general on-sale will begin July 14 at 10:00 a.m. local time. To access the presale, fans will need to sign up for Echosmith's mailing list at echosmith.com. See below for more information.

The LA-based alt-pop trio, led by Sydney Sierota and rounded out by her brothers Noah (bass) and Graham (drums), saw the departure of big brother and guitar player Jamie, who chose to leave the band after the last album in order to spend more time with his wife and son.

"We had to find ourselves as a trio instead of a quartet," admits Noah. "At that point, we never had another musician on stage with us," explains Sydney. "That literally forced us on a journey of having to discover this sound. We still had electric guitars, but they weren't the center of the music anymore."

In order to bring that vision to life, the group utilized vintage synths, keys, and drum machines.

Echosmith first emerged onto the scene in 2013, with the success of their debut album Talking Dreams and triple-platinum hit "Cool Kids," and platinum-certified "Bright."

The Sierotas have played to crowds of thousands at festivals and with sold-out shows in the U.S. and Europe, and joined Taylor Swift as special guests on her 1989 Tour in Philadelphia to perform "Cool Kids."
