Out now: Licorice Pizza Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on limited edition vinyl, digital and CD

Republic Records announces the release of the limited edition first pressing vinyl for Licorice Pizza Original Motion Picture Soundtrack out now. It is also joined by a limited-edition red vinyl which can be found at select indie retailers. Other formats include digital and CD.

The album accompanies the new film from eight-time Academy Award®-nominated writer and director Paul Thomas Anderson which opened in select New York and Los Angeles Theaters on November 26th and will open across the country on Christmas Day December 25th, 2021 via United Artists Releasing.

The album notably features an unreleased original track entitled “Licorice Pizza” by composer and Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood. Additionally, it speaks to the spirit of the San Fernando Valley in the seventies with favorites such as “Life on Mars?” by David Bowie, “Stumblin’ In” by Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro, “Peace Frog” by The Doors, “If You Could Read My Mind” by Gordon Lightfoot, and more. From Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures in association with BRON Creative, Licorice Pizza tells the story of Alana Kane (Alana Haim) and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman) growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973. Written and Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film tracks the treacherous navigation of first love. The film also stars Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Cooper, and Benny Safdie.

Licorice Pizza marks Paul Thomas Anderson’s ninth film and first since Phantom Thread in 2017.
