At NAMM 2018, held January 25-28, Yamaha will be holding court at the Anaheim Marriott Marquis Ballroom, adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center. The company will be showcasing new products in the Keyboard, Band & Orchestral, Guitars, Drums, Music Production and Live Sound categories, as well as software by Steinberg North America.
Here's some of what the company has scheduled:
YAMAHA JUNIOR ORIGINAL CONCERT
Thursday, January 25, 1 pm
Three pianists ranging in age from 11 to 15, hand-picked from Yamaha Music Schools across the United States will perform their original compositions in the Keyboard area of the Yamaha booth at the Marriott.
YAMAHA ALL-STAR CONCERT ON THE GRAND
Friday, January 26, 6 p.m.
Having hosted dealer exclusive shows for 20 years with big stars, the world’s largest musical instrument manufacturer is bringing its multimedia, multi-artist production to all show attendees on the Yamaha Grand Plaza Stage (between the Marriott and Hilton Hotels).
While the artist lineup for the concert is TBA, Yamaha has built a reputation for memorable past shows featuring Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, John Legend, Earth, Wind & Fire, U2 founder and drummer Larry Mullen, Jr., and many others.
“This concert experience will be gigantic—an over-the-top lineup of performances the likes of which the NAMM Show has never seen before,” said Chris Gero, the three-time Emmy Award winning producer of the concert, and the founder and vice president of Yamaha Entertainment Group (YEG).
“We have been so deeply honored to offer jaw dropping, mesmerizing concert magic to our dealers over the past two decades. We felt it was time to greatly expand our time-tested experience to delight all NAMM show attendees. This will be the highlight event at NAMM and something you will not want to miss.”
YEG manages the endorsements for more than 3,000 artists and musicians around the globe, and has earned an impressive 17 Emmy Award nominations for their work in film and music production.
In addition to bringing some of the biggest names in music to the stage for January’s All-Star Concert on the Grand 2018, Yamaha will power the entire plaza with the company’s award-winning commercial audio gear, including the Rivage PM10 Digital Mixing System and NEXO line array speakers.
BLOGGERS LOUNGE
Yamaha will once again host a Bloggers Lounge in the Marriott Elite Ballroom 3, adjacent from the main display in the Marquis Ballroom. The Bloggers Lounge will provide the media and other content creators a convenient place to write about Yamaha or other NAMM show events.
Note: The NAMM Show is not open to the public.
