Saint Etienne's final album 'International' contains all-star collaborations like Vince Clarke, Nick Heyward

Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell - the veteran British dance-pop collective known as Saint Etienne -
call last orders on a three-decade career, with International, their 13th and final album on Heavenly Recordings.

Set for release in America on September 5 via PIAS, includes contributions by Vince Clarke of Erasure, Nick Heyward (Haircut 100), Erol Alkan (Duran Duran), Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Doves, Xenomania and others.

Mixed and recorded in Brighton with Tim Powell (Xenomania & Pet Shop Boys), International was written in tandem with their previous ambient release, The Night, acting almost as an antidote.

The final album, in contrast, is almost entirely up-tempo.

“This is where we are, and who we’ve worked with, and the place we’ve arrived at,” says Bob. With a nod to seminal debut album Foxbase Alpha, its interludes are read in different languages and feature minor anecdotes from the band’s career recorded by various media personalities.

“As it was our last record, we managed to pullin some of our favourite people. It’s like throwing a landmark birthday party,” laughs Pete. Add to that a rollcall of fabled producers and songwriters from the 1980s to 2025.

Track listing:

1. Glad (w/Tom Rowlands and Jez Williams)
2. Dancing Heart (w/Tim Powell)
3. The Go Betweens (Duet w/ Nick Heyward and Gus Bousfield)
4. Sweet Melodies (w/Erol Alkan)

Out now digitally: Peter Gabriel 2003 live album from the Real World Studios

In The Big Room captures Peter Gabriel and band recorded live in the Big Room at Real World Studios on 23 November, 2003.

"I’d not really taken advantage of the big room as a performance space myself and when, in 2003, the opportunity came up, we grabbed it and offered the small number of seats to members of the Full Moon club. It was not part of a big tour so we weren’t as polished and rehearsed as we might have been while on tour, but it made for a more awake and edgy performance, as we were fully concentrating on what we were doing. There was no elaborate visual show, the whole focus was about making it sound good. I had pretty much forgotten how these songs sounded but listening back to these mixes I was pleasantly surprised how alive they were. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did."
– Peter Gabriel

This intimate concert was for members of Peter Gabriel’s Full Moon Club and took place during a short run of live shows in November 2003 that also included a performance for the UK’s Children in Need charity at Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr Tydfil, a show at the Brighton Dome and the Nelson Mandela 46664 Concert in Cape Town.

The 14-song set draws on material from both the Growing Up Live tour of 2002/2003 - Gabriel’s first in 10 years that accompanied the release of his album UP - and the subsequent Still Growing Up Live tour that ran through much of 2004. Notable additions to the Growing Up Live set include Burn You Up, Burn You Down, Games Without Frontiers and The Tower That Ate People.

For the performance Peter is joined by his touring band from this period of Tony Levin (bass), David Rhodes (guitar), Ged Lynch (drums), Richard Evans (guitar, whistle, mandolin), Rachel Z (keyboard and backing vox) and Melanie Gabriel (backing vox).

Early years of Spandau Ballet the focus on box set 'Everything is Now' this September

EVERYTHING IS NOW – VOL 1: 1978-1982, slated for Sept. 11 on Rhino Records, is a 9-disc boxed set featuring Spandau Ballet's first two albums alongside previously unavailable material. It includes a 44-page book with original photos from fellow Blitz Kid Graham Smith and new commentary from the whole band.

This collection captures the band's origins and rise from Blitz Club favourites to chart-toppers. The set includes their albums JOURNEYS TO GLORY (1981) and DIAMOND (1982) on vinyl, plus six CDs of singles, remixes, BBC sessions, demos, and a Blu-ray of Dolby Atmos mixes, videos and rare live footage.

Of the title, songwriter Gary Kemp says, “I was having a conversation with Spandau’s manager and lifelong friend Steve Dagger. We were talking about my kids who are constantly listening to and streaming old music, making discoveries like Steely Dan or The Zombies. On TikTok and social media old tracks are getting reinvented. Our streaming is going up and up for people of all ages. Dagger said, ‘The thing is everything is now.’ I said, ‘That’s the title.’ It isn’t the past anymore. It’s in constant re-evaluation and people are discovering it.”

The collection showcases the electronic-infused new wave of early singles like "To Cut A Long Story Short" and "The Freeze" to the funk-influenced "Chant No. 1" and "Instinction."

The boxed set features early favorites including "To Cut A Long Story Short," "Chant No. 1," "Muscle Bound," "Paint Me Down," “Instinction” and "She Loved Like Diamond," and presents multiple versions of tracks that trace their development from initial demos to extended 12" club mixes.

The Blu-ray component includes Dolby Atmos and stereo remixes by acclaimed producer Steven Wilson, alongside original music videos, BBC TV appearances and the complete 56-minute concert from New York's Underground Club in 1981.

Foreigner '4' to get deluxe edition in September

Released in July of 1981 and recorded at the famed Electric Lady Studios in NYC alongside respected music producer Mutt Lange, Foreigner's 4
features some of the band's biggest hits including “Urgent”, “Waiting On A Girl Like You” and “Jukebox Hero."

The new 4CD/1 Blu-ray edition scheduled for Sept. 12 via Rhino Records includes newly remastered Stereo and ATMOS versions, and a booklet containing over 60 exclusive photos, five previously unreleased songs, 14 early and alternate versions of various songs, 15 instrumentals, and 15 live performances from across the globe, spanning the band’s 1981 and 1982 “4” World Tour.

4 spent more weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts than any artist in the history of Atlantic Records, including AC/DC, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin, and went on to sell more than ten million albums worldwide. 4 is certified 6x Platinum in the U.S. (RIAA), 4x Platinum in Canada (Music Canada), Platinum in Australia (ARIA) and Germany (BVMI), and Gold in 7 additional countries.

It spawned three Billboard Hot 100 singles: “Waiting For A Girl Like You”, “Urgent”, and “Juke Box Hero.” “Foreigner 4”, as it's often referred to, is the fourth studio album by the legendary British-American rock band and Rock Hall member released during a time of transition as they famously went from six members to four.

Expanded reissue of Van Halen's 'Balance' due next month

Van Halen’s Balance turns 30 this year, and Rhino is celebrating with an expanded edition of the band’s multi-platinum tenth studio album. It follows last year’s successful reissue of For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (Expanded Edition) and concludes Rhino’s spotlight on the band’s classic albums from the Hagar era.

Arriving August 15, Balance (Expanded Edition) will be available as a 2LP/2CD/Blu-ray deluxe set including the original album, remastered for 2023’s The Collection II, along with a selection of audio and video rarities. Pre-order HERE. The collection also contains several unreleased live recordings from the Balance Tour, including “The Seventh Seal,” which is available today digitally. Listen HERE.

Watch the full collection unboxing HERE.

Standalone versions of Balance will also be available the same day, including a 2CD set with the album and rarities, and a 2LP black vinyl and 2LP orange vinyl pressing that presents the full album on vinyl for the first time in 30 years. Here, the complete album spans three sides, for optimal audio quality, with a Balance-era etching on the fourth.

Balance (Expanded Edition) pulls together a selection of non-album tracks from the period, including the B-side “Crossing Over,” along with “Humans Being” and “Respect the Wind” from the Twister soundtrack. Also featured are eight standout performances from the band’s 1995 Wembley Stadium appearance, which was broadcast by the BBC. The recordings offer rare live versions of Balance tracks like “Feelin’” and “The Seventh Seal.”

The Blu-ray features several restored promo videos, including “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You,” “Amsterdam,” and “Not Enough.” It also includes a previously unreleased live clip of “The Seventh Seal,” filmed at the Target Center in Minneapolis in July 1995.

Originally released on January 24, 1995, Balance debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple Platinum by the RIAA. The album produced rock radio hits like “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” and “Don’t Tell Me (What Love Can Do),” and introduced deeper cuts like “Big Fat Money” and “Aftershock.” It marked the final studio album recorded by the lineup of Sammy Hagar, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Michael Anthony.
