Dreamstage to host special Duran Duran documentary, Q&A on Thursday

Dreamstage will host Duran Duran FUTURE PAST - a special album release event on the eve of the release of their 15th studio album, Thursday October 21 @ 8pm BST/3pm EDT. Tickets are available now.

The event will replay at 8pm EDT/5pm PDT. Followed by a 72hr. VOD period. Watch the trailer hereIt will include an exclusive, live Q&A with the band, followed by the global premiere of Duran Duran: Alison Jackson’s Double Take documentary.

This half-hour film, by award-winning director, Gerry Fox, gives viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the artistry and hard work that went into making the band’s upcoming music video for their latest single “ANNIVERSARY." The video was directed by BAFTA-winning artist, photographer and filmmaker, Alison Jackson, whose work explores the cult of celebrity, using highly-styled lookalikes and actors.

FUTURE PAST is out October 22 via Tape Modern/BMG. The album was produced by Erol Alkan and Giorgio Moroder and features special guests Graham Coxon (of Blur), Tove Lo, CHAI, and Mike Garson (David Bowie), amongst others. Pre-order FUTURE PAST. Watch the video for “INVISIBLE.”

DREAMSTAGE was launched in August 2020 by CEO Thomas Hesse (former President of Sony Music for Global Digital Business and U.S. Sales/Distribution), CTO Scott Chasin (serial entrepreneur with a track record of successfully founding and growing startups, including ProtectWise and MX Logic) and Artistic Director Jan Vogler (internationally known cellist and director of the Dresden Music Festival).

This past May DREAMSTAGE announced a strategic investment from global streaming service Deezer [read more in Business Insider]. And in July, Hess and Head of Artist & Venue Relations, Justin Bridgewater, discussed the monumental changes in the live music world created by the emergence of livestreaming with Pollstar.

The platform has streamed over 100 performances to date, from locations across the globe, with recent performances, including a full orchestra concert by Saint Motel in N. Macedonia; Mastodon performing acoustically for the first time from the Georgia Aquarium; the platform’s inaugural Virtual PRIDE festival, featuring headliners Big Freedia and LP; along with performances by Yo-Yo Ma, Sean Paul, D Smoke and Broadway Stories & Songs series, hosted by renowned musical director Ted Sperling.
