Rick Springfield and Badfinger news

Rick Springfield has teamed up with
Joey Molland’s Badfinger for a sublime new version of that band's "Love Is Gonna Come At Last," which reached #69 on the U.S. singles chart in 1979 and was heard on the album Airwaves.

Springfield says, "Badfinger has always been one of my all-time favorite bands. In fact, I am often asked by journalists ‘What is the one song you had wished you had written?’ and my answer is ‘Baby Blue’. What a perfect song! Their music was and is immortal."

Last fall, Joey Molland’s Badfinger also remade the original lineup's Paul McCartney-penned 1969 pop hit “Come & Get It” with keyboardist Rick Wakeman and Molland assuming lead vocals. Earlier in 2020, Matthew Sweet took on "Baby Blue."

Look for a full-length Badfinger album with special guests Todd Rundgren, Rick Wakeman, Matthew Sweet, Rick Springfield, Sonny Landreth and more coming later this year.
