'Elvis Presley: The Searcher' headed to home video in October

Acclaimed documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher arrives on DVD and Limited Collector’s Edition on Oct. 16 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Using rare footage from the archives of Graceland, "The Searcher" originally debuted on cable TV last spring. It contains commentary and interviews from the late Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris, music producer Jon Landau and Elvis’ guitarist, Scotty Moore and others.

Included in the bonus features are an “In Conversation” featurette, a Q&A discussion with Director Thom Zimny, executive producers Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling and Grammy Museum executive director Scott Goldman recorded at the Los Angeles Grammy Museum. The Limited Collector’s Edition will also feature commemorative packaging and a 20-page digibook featuring rare photos from the Graceland archives.

The three-hour film was directed and produced by Thom Zimny, with additional executive producers Glen Zipper, Andrew Solt, Alan Gasmer and Jamie Salter; Landau and Kary Antholis, producers.
