News on Mike Peters of The Alarm

Mike Peters & The Alarm fans worldwide can click here to check out the new music video "Coming Backwards." It is taken from the forthcoming soundtrack to "Man In The Camo Jacket," the new documentary about Mike Peters' life and health challenges.

Of the new video, Peters commented, "'When writing and recording 'Coming Backwards' I felt it made connections to the energy of the band that was on full display through our first ever video for 'The Stand'. When we first connected with audiences back in 1983 it wasn't just because of our music, it was also through the way we presented ourselves and conducted our performances on stage. It was also transmitted through the iconic red poppy which I paint-sprayed across the backdrops of the video and at our early stage shows. For 'Coming Backwards', the production team recreated the set of MTV's The Cutting Edge, where the original video for 'The Stand' was shot and I set to work paint spraying the red poppy and lyrics onto the backdrops and the performance and edit totally captures the modern spirit of the Alarm today...still maverick, still making the kind of 'stand' that I first sang about in the original song, only this time the 'making of the stand' is now very real with my own comeback from cancer and the work of our charity 'Love Hope Strength', which is saving lives at concerts and festivals across the globe."

The "Man In The Camo Jacket" soundtrack, released via J-2 Music/ATA Entertainment, will be available digitally in early June.

As for the film, it traces Peters' rise to fame, battles with cancer, and inspiring climb back as he enlists some of the world's top musicians to help save the lives of cancer patients around the globe. Ultimately though, the life he saves may be his own.

Filmed over the course of eight years, the movie documents Peters' journeys to the summits of some of the world's tallest mountains...and to the depths of his regular chemotherapy treatments. "Man In The Camo Jacket" features performances from the man himself and appearances by Slim Jim Phantom of Stray Cats, Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses, Billy Bragg, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, SiriusXM/JACK FM-Los Angeles DJ Richard Blade and SiriusXM/original MTV veejay Martha Quinn. "Man In The Camo Jacket" will have its premiere in NYC on April 29 (Gramercy Theater) and the movie will be part of a very special evening including sets from Peters (acoustic) and The Alarm (full band). "The Gathering" was first held in Peters' home country of Wales in 1992. This past February was the 25th anniversary of the first "Gathering," and special concerts were held in Wales to commemorate the anniversary. The movie is currently being shown at film festivals around the country and will be available on VOD and iTunes on July 4.

The Alarm will tour the U.S. through July-August.

Formed in Wales in 1981 by lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Peters, The Alarm came to be known for college and rock radio hits like as "The Stand," "Sixty-Eight Guns," "Strength" and more in the 1980s.

Peters is also actively involved with the charity he co-founded in 2007, Love Hope Strength. It is the world's leading rock and roll cancer foundation.
