Little Boots set to perform in Brooklyn this week, with EP on the way

Business Pleasure, the new EP from Little Boots, is out on Dec. 1. It previews her forthcoming third album due in 2015.

Produced by Com Truise (Matthew Dear's Ghostly label), Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw, and Grammy-winning Atlanta mixer/producer Chris Carmouche (Outkast/Janelle Monae), the British singer mixes "DIY pop" and "narrative house."

"For the first time I'm in a place where I'm truly in control of my career both creatively and logistically, which is incredibly liberating and exciting,” says Victoria Hesketh, who is Little Boots.

"I wrote a piece for The [London] Times last year about my experiences of pop-life and then setting up my own label, and the response was overwhelming. It's such an inspiring time for empowered young women.”

Her solo debut album Hands was released in June 2009, reached No. 5 in the UK and went gold there. The album's second single "Remedy" peaked at No. 6. In the United States, the 2009 Illuminations EP got to No. 14 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Second studio album Noctures came out in 2013.

Little Boots will do a one-off solo show in Brooklyn, NY at the Music Hall of Williamsburg
on Nov. 8 for Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, where she’ll be performing new material from the EP.
