Peter Morén unveils another solo EP

Peter Morén, of Peter Bjorn and John fame is set to release his second solo EP in a two-part series on INGRID this fall with the Oct. 7 release of Broken Swenglish Vol. 2.

Originally planned for a spring 2014 release and the follow-up to December 2013’s Broken Swenglish Vol. 1, the new EP was a little delayed after Peter discovered his hard-drive had collapsed and he lost vital string sections and other essential musical parts for the new English versions of the songs. After a little extra time in the studio and some re-recording, Morén was able to get the five-song EP back on track and set for a fall release in the US.

Morén has been extremely busy since his debut solo album The Last Tycoon came out in the US in 2008. Most recently he’s been in the studio working on Peter Bjorn and John’s seventh studio album, he collaborated with RAC on “All I Got” – a new track off his debut album Strangers and he remixed British folk-rockers Vena Portaes song “Summer Kills.”

Before that he was recording, releasing and touring behind Peter Bjorn and John’s 2011 highly praised studio album Gimme Some and he released two full-length solo albums in Swedish – 2010’s I spåren av tåren and 2012’s Pyramiden. Both Swedish language releases were met with considerable critical acclaim in his homeland and he found himself wanting to bring his newer solo work to a wider audience.

With that in mind, Morén set out record English versions of several select songs from the two recent Swedish solo albums and release them via a series of solo EPs on INGRID, the Swedish artist collective that Peter formed alongside several other notable Swedes including Lykke Li, Miike Snow and the rest of Peter Bjorn and John.

The first EP release in the series was Broken Swenglish Vol. 1 was released in December 2013.

INGRID IS: Peter Bjorn and John, Andrew Wyatt and Pontus Winnberg from Miike Snow, Lykke Li, Coco Morier, Jocke Åhlund, Nille Perned and Jonas Torvestig.
