Stockholm's First Aid Kit gear up for new album, tour

I was impressed by the last album and haven't seen a concert yet. Hope to have the chance during the next live outing...

On June 10, Swedish folk/pop duo First Aid Kit will make their Columbia Records debut with Stay Gold. The band has also announced a full headlining North American tour this spring.

For Stay Gold, First Aid Kit—sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg—recorded in Omaha with producer Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Monsters of Folk) and enlisted The Omaha Symphony Orchestra to play on the record, with arrangements by Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes, Broken Bells, Rilo Kiley).

They say of the recording process, “We took new directions and turns with the arrangements, building them up and creating more dynamics, yet always following where the songs wanted to go.”

The sisters drew inspiration from Spaghetti Westerns, Lee Hazlewood as well as Tusk-era Fleetwood Mac.

Hailing from a southern suburb of Stockholm, they began composing songs as teenagers in 2007. In '12, The Lion’s Roar, drew critical acclaim and saw the duo perform on Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, and open for Jack White, Lykee Li, and Bright Eyes.

Stay Gold is available for pre-order on CD, digital download, or limited edition gold vinyl. The album will also be bundled with an exclusive tote bag and an autographed 14x20 lithograph while supplies last. Pre-order here: http://smarturl.it/FAK_StayGold.
