Nirvana book gets reissued

Carlton Books has announced the re-issue of author/journalist Carrie Borzillo's first book, 2000's Eyewitness Nirvana: The Day by Day Chronicles, with a new cover, title, and design as Nirvana: In The Words of the People Who Were There on April 1 to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain.

The reissued book, which comes in a new 5.5 x 8-inch format, is available everywhere books are sold, including Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Borzillo is also selling a limited number of signed copies direct to the fans via her official website, http://carrieborzillo.com/books.html for $35 (U.S.) and $45 (International), including free shipping. A percentage of each autographed book purchased direct from the author will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org).

"We lost one of the greatest artists of our generation when Kurt Cobain took his life on April 5, 1994 and it's a sadness that I still deeply feel today. I have very strong feelings about suicide and mental health issues and wanted to do a small part to give back by donating a percentage of the books I sign and sell to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention," says Borzillo.

Nirvana: In The Words of the People Who Were There is as near as possible to a day-to-day account of every significant band event, from its inception right through Kurt Cobain's early tragic death on April 5, 1994.

Seeking to separate fact from fiction and clear up some of the myths and untruths that have grown up around the band, the book features more than 50 first-hand accounts, memories and anecdotes of every important moment in Nirvana's career. The book includes Borzillo's own recount of covering the news of Cobain's death and the public vigil in Seattle in April 1994.
