Michael Franti & Spearhead tour dates

This is very upbeat, festive stuff. Some  potential summer anthems on the new CD. I love how Franti namechecks Coachella (and other music festivals) on opener "All People."

Michael Franti has returned with the first new single, “I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like),” from his forthcoming eighth studio album.

All People (Capitol) will be released on July 30. The single marks Franti’s first in two years, and has moved into the Top 15 on the AAA charts.

“I'm excited that (I'm Alive) is finally hitting the streets and the ear drums of our fans,” said Franti. “The song is about being your own weird self with the person you love the most and being grateful for every last precious drop of life. It has rocked at our shows and it feels like we recorded a version that puts you right there in the first ten rows.”

All People is about the beauty of diversity, being your authentic self in a crazy world and the infinite power of love,” added Franti. “For everyone that's been with us for days or decades, I really appreciate the love that you've given us. The music is for you and you inspire us.”

The album follows 2010’s The Sound Of Sunshine, which was the highest Billboard Top 200 Album Chart debut of Franti’s career. The album's title track held the #1 spot on Billboard’s AAA Singles Chart for eight weeks. His previous album, All Rebel Rockers, hit the Top 40 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and yielded the certified double platinum “Say Hey (I Love You).”
