The Mowgli’s news

California band The Mowgli’s paved the way to the San Francisco Giants’ World Series championship with “San Francisco,” whose video is now on VEVO.

The first release from a venture between Photo Finish and Island Records, “San Francisco” is top 30 at alternative radio and is impacting Triple-A.

“San Francisco” is included on Love's Not Dead, the band's debut EP. Other tracks include “The Great Divide” (opening credits theme of upcoming film Middleton starring Andy Garcia), “Time,” “Slowly, Slowly,” and “Carry Your Will.”

Named iTunes Single Of the Week, “San Francisco” has amassed over 300,000 downloads to date.

As “San Francisco” makes its way into the mainstream, The Mowgli’s are in the midst of a Monday night residency this month at Silver Lake (Los Angeles) club the Satellite. Full tour dates are below. They appear on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Feb. 21.

Late last year, The Mowgli’s supported the release of “San Francisco” and the EP with a cross-country tour with Walk Off The Earth.

Inspired by the grind of Los Angeles, the magnetism of San Francisco, and the serenity of the Big Sur Coast, the songs of The Mowgli’s can be described as a joyous revival of rock and roll, a twisting indie-folk dance and a heartfelt protest ballad.

They have been known to slide from indie pop to country and a host of genres in between, evoking modern artists such as Fun., Grouplove, and Edward Sharpe And the Magnetic Zeros, while their roots are firmly planted in the music of Neil Young, the Byrds, the Beach Boys, and Fleetwood Mac.
