Blur news

There's been plenty of exciting Blur news lately. First came two excellent brand new songs ("The Puritan," "Under the Westway") and career-spanning box set.

I was glad to see Blur's "Parklife" get a prominent part in  the Olympics closing ceremony, even if the band wasn't present. This should be a great live set...

Blur’s show in Hyde Park, which marked the close of the Olympic Games this past weekend, is available for download via iTunes. The band partnered with Abbey Road Live Here Now to deliver instant high quality live audio of their massive sold-out London show.

A limited edition CD of the full Hyde Park show will be available via the band’s website soon. Titled Parklive, it will be comprised of two show discs coupled with a bonus disc featuring unreleased live tracks selected from the recent warm-up shows.

In November, a deluxe five-disc set will contain the three CDs of show audio with an additional performance DVD of the Hyde Park gig, plus an exclusive CD - ‘Blur Live At The 100 Club’ - recorded at the legendary London venue this month.

The discs are packaged in a hardback book containing more than 60 pages of exclusive photographs from both Hyde Park and the 100 Club, available from blur.co.uk.
