Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is set to release his third solo album, Aftermath of the Lowdown, on physical, digital formats via Dangerbird
Records on Sept. 18.
In a departure from his previous major label releases - Undiscovered Soul (1998) and Stranger In This Town (1991) - Sambora has created a vital and visceral album of raw power.
The first single, “Every Road Leads Home To You,” is available now on richiesambora.com.
Aftermath of the Lowdown finds Sambora collaborating with longtime friend, producer and songwriter, Luke Ebbin. He felt the freedom to compose a personal collection of songs. “This is my favorite record I’ve ever made,” Sambora says. “It’s the most fulfilling and
beautiful experience in my life as a musician.”
With
Ebbin (Bon Jovi, Melissa Etheridge) as co-writer and producer, Sambora
recruited musicians including Rusty Anderson (guitar/Paul McCartney's
band), Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. (keyboards/Jellyfish, Weezer) and
others.
His first album in 14
years contains lyrics that tackle divorce, substance abuse,
single parenthood, independence and self-reliance. “A lot has happened
in my life over the last 10 years, personal stuff that’s cathartic for
me to get out,” says Sambora. "Things that could happen to
anybody. I just happened to be in a band
with the biggest concert tour in the world, and in the glare of the
public eye.”
It's nice that Rusty Anderson is a part of this album. He has been epic with Paul McCartney's band!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Rusty always gets to contribute to some amazing albums.
