Very exciting news for big fans like myself...
Following
a sell out U.K. tour and a series of festival dates
throughout Europe this spring and summer, New Order now confirm
their first dates in North America since 2005.
Today singer Bernard Sumner said, “We’ve been having such a great
time together this year, playing shows all over Europe, and we're all
really excited to be playing America again. We have so many friends and
fans there we can't wait to get back!"
New Order's last U.S. show was New York's Hammerstein
Ballroom in May 2005 and their last visit to Canada was in 2001.
The band features original members Bernard Sumner (vocals/guitar), Stephen Morris (drums), Gillian Gilbert (keyboard/guitar), plus Phil Cunningham (guitar/keyboards) and Tom Chapman (bass) in place of Peter Hook, who acrimoniously left the band [see my 2011 interview elsewhere on this blog].
