Mika sets fall for new album

Mika has announced his third album, The Origin of Love, will come out on Universal Republic this fall.

His last worldwide smash The Boy Who Knew Too Much debuted on iTunes top ten charts around the world. The Origin of Love will be preceded by an EP this summer.

The anthemic new single “Celebrate” was written by Mika, produced by Nick Littlemore from Empire of the Sun and features Pharrell Williams on vocals. Mika has also worked with William Orbit, Benny Benassi, Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele) and others on the album.

Of the collaborations, Mika says everyone threw themselves into it, "wanting to have fun without any ego. This collective and open attitude was at the heart of The Origin Of Love. It’s an album about crazy love songs and tolerance.”

Mika has commissioned a short film to accompany "Make You Happy," and can be viewed at

A further Mika composition from the album writing sessions, "Gang Bang," turned up on Madonna’s MDNA album. She has widely praised that as her favourite song.

Mika will debut new songs at shows this summer. A US tour is slated for fall.

Mika has sold over 8 million records and had gold or platinum awards in 32 countries from his previous two albums Life in Cartoon Motion and The Boy Who Knew Too Much and won Brit and MTV Awards.
