Queen+Adam Lambert news

Since their first appearance together in 2009 when Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor appeared as guests on the finale of the eighth season of American Idol on which Adam Lambert was a contestant, the combination of Queen + Adam Lambert has become one of the world’s biggest drawing touring bands.

Their most recent tour of Oceania saw them selling out to massive audiences, with a single show at Sydney’s ANZ stadium drawing a record crowd of over 60,000. To date the band has played to a worldwide audience approaching 4 million.

Had this been different times, Brian, Roger, and Adam would have just ended a further tour with a colossal run of 27 shows across 9 European countries. However, the arrival of COVID-19 forced their imminent UK and European summer tour to be postponed until next year. With this in mind, Queen + Adam Lambert looked to other ways to console the almost half a million disappointed fans already holding tickets.

This is when they turned first to YouTube. No strangers to the platform with 12.5 million subscribers already following them, the band presented a special Queen + Adam Lambert ‘Tour Watch Party,’ an hour-long show of live highlights from previous tours across the world. The positive engagement from fans worldwide showed that despite the global blackout of live shows, the show could still go on. But it wasn’t just the 500,000+ viewing fans who were impressed, so were the band themselves.

“We hadn’t really watched those clips before, we were always too busy touring” says Roger Taylor. “We weren’t aware of how good the band sounded. So we thought, well, maybe there’s a live album of highlights of concerts that we’ve done over the last eight years with Adam Lambert to be made.”

As hinted at in interviews recently, Queen + Adam Lambert have now confirmed they will release their first-ever live album Queen + Adam Live Around the World. The release comes worldwide October 2nd in CD, CD+DVD, CD+Blu-ray and Vinyl formats.

The set presents a compilation of concert highlights captured the world over personally selected by Taylor, May, and Lambert from over 200 shows they have performed with several featured here becoming available for the very first time. These cover concerts from Rock in Rio, Lisbon, to the UK’s Isle of Wight Festival, Summer Sonic, Japan, selected UK and North America tour dates, and - from one of their very last performances before lockdown – the Fire Fight Australia benefit show.

All formats include the band’s entire 22-minute Fire Fight Australia appearance in which they performed Queen’s original history-making 1985 Live Aid set in full: “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “Hammer To Fall,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Will Rock You” and “We are The Champions.” While even Freddie Mercury’s iconic Ay-Ohs feature.

The twenty tracks featured include firm Queen fan favorites like “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “I Want To Break Free” as well as rarities such as their versions of the Freddie Mercury penned “Love Kills” and “I Was Born To Love You.” The live album comes in CD, CD+DVD, CD+Blu-ray and Vinyl versions, with the DVD and Blu-ray featuring extra performance footage which include a Roger Taylor “Drum Battle” with drummer son Rufus Taylor, and Brian May “Last Horizon” guitar solo.

Brian May said of the historic live album: “As we all grapple with the challenge of creating live shows in a world dominated by a formidable viral enemy, it seemed the perfect time for us to create a collection of hand-picked live highlights from our Queen shows over the last 7 years with our brother Adam Lambert.

May continues: “It’s a first! As you watch and listen to these tracks you’ll be journeying all around the world with us, and experiencing a complete virtual live set. The collection climaxes in Sydney earlier this year when, in support Fire Fight Australia, we recreated the complete Queen Live Aid set. It was a historic event for a great cause - with perhaps the highest adrenaline level since the original Live Aid in 1985. It makes me particularly happy that we can now share this unique moment with the whole world.”

While Adam Lambert added: “When we couldn’t tour this year we wanted to give the fans something in place of that, and a Live album just felt right. It’s the first time we have released an album together and we have had a lot of fun putting it together, picking out favorite performances over the past seven years.”

Queen + Adam Lambert’s only previously released track, their lockdown version of “You Are the Champions,” with all the proceeds going towards the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization, was viewed close to 4 million times in its first month on YouTube.

Queen + Adam Lambert’s postponed 27-date UK and European Rhapsody Tour is now rescheduled to begin May 23, 2021, in Bologna, Italy, with its final date to be played in Madrid, Spain, on July 7. The full set of dates includes a 10-day residency at London’s The O2 Arena in June.

Tom Petty's 'Wildflowers' to get deluxe box set

Tom Petty's
Wildflowers & All The Rest, the long-awaited Wildflowers reissue and comprehensive collection, will be released on October 16 via Warner Records.

During Petty’s final interview with the Los Angeles Times, as the 40th anniversary tour with The Heartbreakers was coming to an end, he announced that his next big focus would be to finally revisit his 1994 masterpiece, Wildflowers, co-produced with Rick Rubin and Mike Campbell.

Wildflowers in many ways changed Tom’s creative life—as a recording artist, collaborator and band leader—while a profound, personal crisis transformed the stories and emotional thrust in his songs. Tom ultimately wrote more songs than he could release at the time. In fact, Tom, Rubin and Campbell completed the album as a double CD with 25 songs, nearly two hours of music, but his label advised restraint.

Released on November 1, 1994, Wildflowers—a single CD with 15 songs, still more than an hour in length—was Tom’s most acutely confessional album to date.

The resurrection of Wildflowers has been a long time coming. In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone Tom detailed his plans for the reissue, telling the magazine, “I broke through to something else. My personal life came crashing down, and it derailed me for a while. But I was at the top of my game during that record.”

Again in 2016 on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio, he discussed his desire for a Wildflowers tour to coincide with a reissue. Tom had always intended to release the second half of the album—a collection he named All The Rest, featuring ten songs from the Wildflowers recording sessions that were left off the original version and five unreleased tracks (different versions of four other songs would appear on the soundtrack to the 1996 film, She’s The One).

Now Tom’s vision of the project is becoming a reality due to the commitment of his loving family, bandmates and collaborators who helped unearth many previously unheard songs. The compilation was curated by Tom’s daughters, Adria and Annakim Petty and his wife Dana Petty who call it, “Many, many hours of pure sonic joy,” as well as Heartbreakers Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench, and was produced by Tom’s longtime engineer and co-producer Ryan Ulyate. Together they stewarded the warmth Tom created through his music and relationship to his fans.

Wildflowers (Home Recording),” a solo demo version of the title track, premiered alongside a video featuring never before seen footage of Tom at his home, shot by Martyn Atkins during the recording of Wildflowers. The video was co-directed by Alan Bibby and Jonny Kofoed and produced by Assembly. Watch the video HERE.

The significance of the song is revealed in David Fricke’s essay written for the liner notes of the collection.

That track is available now with pre-order of the Deluxe Edition, in addition to the recently released songs “There Goes Angela (Dream Away) (Home Recording)” and “You Don’t Know How It Feels (Home Recording).”

Wildflowers & All The Rest will be released in multiple formats. Wildflowers & All The Rest—Deluxe Edition features 15 recordings made by Tom in his home studio as he was writing the album. These solo demos found him playing all the instruments and revising lyrics as he worked.

The Deluxe Edition is rounded-off with 14 live performances of songs from Wildflowers, recorded on various tours from 1995 to 2017. Wildflowers & All The Rest—Super Deluxe is a Direct to Consumer Limited Edition set featuring Finding Wildflowers—16 studio recordings of alternate takes of Wildflowers songs as Tom, band members and Rubin honed-in on the final album.

The collection features special packaging across the various formats. The Super Deluxe Edition includes an introduction penned by Rick Rubin, the aforementioned essay written by David Fricke—“Somewhere You Feel Free: Tom Petty’s Road to Wildflowers, ” lyrics to all the songs on Wildflowers and All The Rest, as well as a track-by-track by Jaan Uhelszki with contributions from Rubin, Ulyate, Wildflowers engineer Jim Scott, Heartbreakers live mixing engineer Robert Scovill, and Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Steve Ferrone.

Adria Petty also oversaw the creative direction for the Wildflowers project, with original packaging illustrations by Blaze Ben Brooks, original cover beadwork by Maria Sarno, as well as Wildflowers-era photography by Mark Seliger, Robert Sebree and Martyn Atkins.

Tom Petty released 16 studio albums and over 180 songs over the course of his 40-year career. Wildflowers was Petty’s fastest selling album and certified Triple Platinum nine months after its release. Five of the 18 songs were performed at his final live concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles came from the album.

Massive Tears For Fears box set for 'The Seeds Of Love' due in October

This is very exciting news as the album was the first one that I bought by the band - on cassette - when it came out. Read on for all the details...

On Oct. 9, UMe/Virgin will release a deluxe box set celebrating Tears For Fears' third album The Seeds Of Love from 1989.

Roland Orzabal, half of the UK duo, says, "Out of all our albums, I'd probably rank it highest. I think it surprised a lot of people, a lot of our peers as well, people who maybe we were being compared to in the mid-Eighties."

Musical partner Curt Smith adds, "The tracks I liked then, I still like now. 'Woman in Chains,' 'Badman's Song,' 'Sowing the Seeds of Love,' and 'Advice For The Young At Heart' have all stuck around. We still play those live."

The super deluxe box set consists of four CDs and one Blu-Ray, which fully tells the story of how the album evolved. The box set includes 22 unreleased tracks from demo sessions, live jams, studio sessions along with a set of b-sides, and rare mixes.

There are demos of "Advice For The Young At Heart" with Orzabal singing lead vocal and "Rhythm of Life," which didn't make it onto The Seeds of Love and was later given to Oleta Adams for her Circle of One album. The Blu-ray also has a 5.1 mix by Grammy-nominated artist Steven Wilson.

Coming off the back of the ten million-selling Songs From The Big Chair, The first writing sessions for The Seeds Of Love started when the band was touring in 1985, making use of soundchecks to sketch the outlines of new songs.

Over the next four years, Roland and Curt would work with several producers, engineers, and many musicians before finally deciding to produce the album themselves with assistance from their Songs From The Big Chair engineer Dave Bascombe.

A key person in the making of the album was pianist and singer Oleta Adams, who Roland and Curt had seen play in the bar of their hotel while touring in 1985. She joined the recording sessions in early 1988 along with world-class session players such as drummer Manu Katché and bass player Pino Palladino and would play a massive part in songs such as "Woman In Chains" and "Badman's Song."

These jam sessions in 1988 took place at London's Townhouse studio, and disc four contains around 30 minutes edited down from over 24 hours of in-the-studio live performance, exactly as it was performed at the time. Very different versions of "Woman in Chains," "Badman's Song," "Standing On The Corner Of The Third World," and "Rhythm of Life" among them.

While the band was pleased with these sessions, there was still at least another year of further recording, overdubbing, editing, mixing, tweaking and discussion, before the final mix was finished in New York in the summer of 1989.

Beck goes further into 'Hyperspace'

Beck has collaborated with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in southern California.

With the release of Hyperspace: A.I. Exploration, he takes the universally acclaimed album to new frontiers via an interstellar journey combining publicly available NASA mission images, curated with assistance from NASA JPL, visualizations, animations and data with revolutionary Artificial Intelligence tech. The result is the creation of new worlds borne from NASA missions, each soundtracked by Beck’s songs: actual Hyperspaces.

The realization of these Hyperspaces was executed by A.I. architects and directors OSK, who asked “How would artificial intelligence imagine our universe?” In finding the answer, OSK created a unique A.I. utilizing computer vision, machine learning and Generative Adversarial neural Networks (GAN) to learn from NASA’s vast archives. After training on hundreds of thousands of images, videos and data points from NASA’s space exploration research and missions, the Hyperspace A.I. then began creating its own visions of our universe.

The resulting visual album merges science and art, taking us on a journey across space, time, and beyond – all scored by the otherworldly music of Beck’s Hyperspace album. Actual NASA expeditions and data are transformed into vivid new universes “imagined” by an emerging new kind of creative intelligence.

The Hyperspace: A.I. Exploration Visual Album Experience track listing including corresponding NASA destinations is as follows:

Hyperlife | Landsat 8, International Space Station
Uneventful Days | Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), Apollo 12
Saw Lightning | Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), Curiosity Rover, Viking 1 Orbiter
Die Waiting | Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO)
Chemical | Cassini-Huygens
See Through | Juno
Hyperspace | Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS)
Stratosphere | Spitzer Space Telescope
Dark Places | Hubble Space Telescope (HST)
Star | Hubble Space Telescope (HST), Swift, Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope
Everlasting Nothing | Hubble Space Telescope (HST)

+ visualizers for bonus tracks ‘I Am The Cosmos (42420)’ and ‘Dark Places (Soundscape) using A.I. footage trained on NASA black hole and star data.

In addition to taking his 14th album beyond the confines of the atmosphere, Beck ventures further into these songs' innerspace via a limited edition vinyl LP release of Hyperspace. Due out Dec. 4, Hyperspace (2020) features two previously unreleased songs ‘Dark Places (Soundscape)’ and a bonus solo acoustic version of Chris Bell’s ‘I Am The Cosmos (42420)’ recorded at home in April of 2020, plus brand new 2020 mixes of ‘Star’, ‘Hyperspace’, ‘See Through’ and ‘Die Waiting’.

The vinyl is a limited edition 12” with holographic jacket, and also includes a 24-page booklet with AI images & NASA data for each track, limited to 5000 copies. The Hyperspace special edition LP adds new dimensions to the Beck album.

Shania Twain marks 25th anniversary of 'The Woman in Me' with expanded Diamond Edition.

Shania Twain, the best-selling female country artist of all-time in the US, announced the 25th anniversary of her GRAMMY-winning breakthrough album with The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition. Watch Twain's recent GMA performance HERE
Available October 2, via Mercury Nashville/UMG Recordings, Inc., the Diamond Edition contains a newly remastered version of the multi-platinum album. It also includes previously unreleased tracks, live recordings, and mixes. There are 2 and 3CD configurations, with the remastered album available in LP and Limited-Edition color variant LP versions.

Listen or pre-order The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition now HERE. Pre-order The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition now and receive the "Any Man Of Mine" digital EP, which includes the remastered album track, the Live From Las Vegas version, and the Shania Vocal Mix.

The three-CD box set contains 16 previously unreleased tracks, including five live performances recorded in December 2019 during Twain's residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, and an entire "Shania Vocal Mix" containing early takes of 11 songs from nearly a year before the album's release.

In addition to the five Las Vegas performances, the "Live & Remixed" disc, available on both the 2 and 3CD editions, features two tracks recorded in September 1998 at Dallas' Reunion Arena for the Shania: Live DVD that also was carried on DirecTV; and nine remixes that show how Twain and producer, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, continued to adapt her sound as she began to cross into pop and international markets - and even into dance clubs.

Eight of the 12 songs from The Woman in Me appeared on Billboard's country singles chart, with four - "Any Man of Mine," "(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!" "You Win My Love" and "No One Needs to Know" - reaching No. 1. "Any Man of Mine" also gave Twain her first Top 40 crossover hit. The Woman in Me spent 29 weeks atop the country albums chart and was 1995's best-selling country album. It won a GRAMMY for Best Country Album in 1996 and later was ranked No. 8 on CMT's list of 40 Greatest Country Albums.

The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition is accompanied by a 48-page booklet containing liner notes from Twain, a 3,000-word essay written by journalist Eve Barlow, and photographs from John Derek, Albert Sanchez, Mark Tucker, Bo Derek, and Alexander E. Harbaugh.

The Woman in Me, Twain's second album, debuted at No. 65 on the Billboard country chart in February 1995, entering the Billboard 200 three weeks later at 197. The album continued to climb steadily, finally hitting No. 1 on the country chart in July, the same week "Any Man of Mine" became Twain's first chart-topping country single.

By that point, the album was already gold; by the end of 1995, it had sold 4 million copies, making it the year's top-selling country album. In 1996, it passed Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits to become the best-selling album by a female country artist (a title Twain's 1997 follow-up, Come on Over, would claim in 1999). The Woman in Me reached Diamond status for shipments of 10 million copies in 1997, then 12 million in 2000. It has sold an estimated 20 million copies worldwide.

Twain has sold 48 million albums in the US, making her the sixth best-selling female artist in the country, and 100 million albums worldwide. She is the only female artist to have three consecutive albums certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association for shipments of 10 million units.

American Authors counting down to new EP

Alternative pop band American Authors has a new EP, Counting Down, arriving on Sept. 18 via Island Records. It follows 2019's Seasons and features previously released singles "Microphone" and "Best I Can." Pre-orders for Counting Down are available now at: umusic.digital/oihxkk.

On the new EP, vocalist/guitarist Zac Barnett says: ""The Counting Down EP started as a batch of songs written for fun following the release of Seasons. We spent 4 days in Nashville before a show & knocked out the songs you hear here."

Barnett points out that the band weren't actually setting out to make a new album.

"At the time," he explains, "we weren't thinking about this as a collection of songs, because it fell so close after releasing the album. We were just writing to write, and that's what was really fun about these songs, but coming right after an album, there were no limits on what this was. We were just writing from the heart."

In fact, what would eventually turn into EP actually started life as a singles project when the band decided to release "Microphone." It was a song they'd been sitting on for a couple of years and felt it would make an amazing live song to release before tour - which started in January and finished at the end of February, mere weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic really struck.

But soon after finishing that song, they were connected with Norwegian EDM production duo Seeb, and the collaboration of "Best I Can" was set in motion. As the pandemic continued to spread and grow, the band's members realized it might be a long time until they'd be able to get together in the same room again.

"We live in three different places now," says Barnett, "but we're such a collaborative band that when we write music we write it all together. With everything going on, we didn't know when the next time all four of us would be able to fly to a studio space and start cranking out new stuff. But we had these songs we really liked, and it seemed like a good time to do another EP and share these songs with the world - if we can give people a little bit more joy or happiness, a bit more light and hope at the end of this tunnel, why not do that right now?"

Recorded by Seasons producer Cason Cooley, the song is about overcoming self-doubt, and serves as a testament to the hard work that the band, even after the success of 2013 single "Best Day Of My Life," put into what they do. Beyond that, it also doubles up as a commentary on the current political climate of the USA.

"The title came from a conversation about destroying barriers and borders that divide us," says Barnett. "It's important now more than ever not to separate but to come together."

While Barnett does think some of these songs "are even more in the genre of classic American Authors than a lot of other stuff we've done in recent history," he also sees this EP as opening a new door and leaving the past behind.

"For me," he explains, "this body of work is going to close a big chapter in American Authors. These songs are helping to move the band to the next step, and move forward into something new, because you always want to be progressing forward. We spent a long time working on our third album and we took it upon ourselves to try something a little different. On a lot of the songs we opened up and we were more vulnerable and we started really just pouring our hearts out into the music - and I learned a lot form that experience. I learned what I loved about that album. But how do you look at all of that, look at what the times are now, and move forward? There's so much craziness right now - not just with COVID but with fighting for racial justice, especially in this country - that this is the time now where we need to come together and work hard to progress forward. I hope these songs can inspire people to feel a little better and want to work a little harder."

Dire Straits career box set arrives in October

On Oct. 9, Rhino will release
DIRE STRAITS: THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1978-1991. The CD and LP sets will come in a deluxe clamshell box, with the CDs housed in mini-LP style cardboard wallets, and each album will include a poster with the original sleeve artwork (including lyrics and credits). The set will also be available on the same day as a newly re-cut eight-LP collection on 180-gram vinyl. Both versions are available for pre-order now.

Dire Straits had a run of album rock and pop singles in the late 70s and early 80s like “Sultans Of Swing,” “Romeo And Juliet,” “Money For Nothing” and “Walk Of Life.” The 1985 album Brothers In Arms, a global Number 1 and double Grammy Award winner, is one of the world’s best selling albums. After releasing their final album “On Every Street” in 1991, Knopfler called time on Dire Straits in 1995 and set off on a new path as a solo artist.

THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1978-1991 features the albums Dire Straits (1978), Communiqué (1979), Making Movies (1980), Love Over Gold (1982), Brothers In Arms (1985) and On Every Street (1991).

New music from The Damned expected in October

In 1980 and 1981, The Damned went to Rockfield for a series of sessions that eventually became The Black Album, The Friday 13th EP, and Strawberries. Their time there produced some of The Damned's greatest musical moments and memorable stories of horses, cows, vampires, rifles, and Lemmy.

In 2019, The Damned returned to Rockfield studios to record the first new music since 2018's Top 10 Evil Spirits album.

The new The Rockfield Files EP will be released on Oct. 16 via Search And Destroy/Spinefarm/UMG. Pre-orders are live here.

"Keep 'Em Alive," the first single from The Rockfield Files EP, is available now with an accompanying music video shot from the perspective of a bee going about its business. Watch it here.

During the recording of the EP, the lineup included three out of the four The Damned members that were at the original sessions — David Vanian, Captain Sensible, and Paul Gray. There was also Monty Oxymoron on keyboards and Pinch on drums. Unbeknown to the band, this was to be the last recording with the long-time drummer Pinch, who departed The Damned after their legendary show at The London Palladium last Halloween.

For the first time, Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Rammstein, Ghost) took over the producer duties for the EP. He also mixed the tracks at his studio in Bath. The EP will be available in Black & Psychedelic Swirl Limited Edition Vinyl.

Soul Asylum news

Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling rock band, SOUL ASYLUM has used their downtime during the pandemic to create new acoustic versions of a few songs from their critically acclaimed latest release, Hurry Up and Wait.

The Born Free digital EP - out Oct. 16 on Blue Élan Records - was completed in the midst of the COVID-19 safer-at-home orders when the band found themselves home, after their U.S. tour was cut short. Lead singer, Pirner, got together with guitarist, Ryan Smith and began streaming Friday night Quarantine Sessions from his living room. The idea to record a few of the songs this way took hold and the first single, “If I Told You” is now available.

Explains Pirner, "After I get the main idea for the song and have roughly figured out how to play it I show it to Ryan and then we play it together. So, in a way, this is kind of showing how the songs were before we added the rhythm section. It's fun to cut live in the studio; there's no going back and you can't fix it. It's unembellished, therefore hopefully interesting."

Pirner and guitarist Smith perform live on American Songwriter's Instagram last Friday.

SOUL ASYLUM recorded the studio album, Hurry Up and Wait with a long-time studio collaborator: co-producer John Fields, who also worked on the band's previous three albums, including their most recent effort, 2016's Change of Fortune.

In addition, the group also decamped to a familiar spot: Nicollet Studios, the same place SOUL ASYLUM recorded one of their seminal early albums released on Twin/Tone Records, the 1986 LP While You Were Out.

Hurry Up and Wait was released in April and landed the band their highest Billboard Chart position since 1995's Platinum selling Let Your Dim Light Shine.

Soul Asylum will also take part in this year’s rescheduled Record Store Day. A deluxe version of Hurry Up and Wait will be available with a bonus 7 inch to celebrate the third RSD drop on October 24, 2020.

The gatefold double LP album is pressed on 180 Gram Vinyl and includes a bonus 7 Inch featuring two previously unreleased recordings; a studio version of live staple "Rhinestone Cowboy" and an acoustic version of the band's fan favorite "We 3," a track that first appeared on And The Horse They Rode In On and later on the Chasing Amy soundtrack.

Pirner has also released his book “Loud, Fast, Words,” an annotated collection of lyrics with an essay about each of his albums, earlier this spring.

Spanning three decades, Soul Asylum’s indie success led to the band entering the major-label mainstream with 1988's Hang Time and its 1990 follow-up And the Horse They Rode In On, before achieving a platinum-level commercial breakthrough with 1992's Grave Dancers Union (certified 3x platinum) and 1995's Let Your Dim Light Shine. Grave Dancers Union featured the international hits "Runaway Train," which won a 1994 Grammy as Best Rock Song, and "Black Gold," while Let Your Dim Light Shine (platinum) spawned the hit "Misery". After 1998's Candy from a Stranger, Soul Asylum returned to action in 2006 with The Silver Lining, Delayed Reaction six years later and 2016’s Change of Fortune.

The current Soul Asylum line-up features Dave Pirner as lead vocals/guitar, Michael Bland on drums, Ryan Smith on lead guitar, and Wynston Roye on bass.

Justin Moore's first live album, recorded at The Ryman, arrives next month

Multi-PLATINUM selling country artist JUSTIN MOORE has announced Live at the Ryman, due Sept. 25 via The Valory Music Co. The album’s first three tracks "Country State of Mind (feat. Chris Janson),” ''Small Town USA” and "If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” are available now through streaming partners and digital retail pre-order at https://JustinMoore.lnk.to/LivePR. Physical albums will be available exclusively at Walmart.

In May 2018, Moore performed his first-ever headline show at the Ryman Auditorium — and his first in Nashville since 2000. Watch a glimpse: https://JustinMoore.lnk.to/Live_TrailerPR.

“A live album is something I’ve always had a desire to record and have out for our fans. We had the chance to record our Ryman show last year. The crowd was unreal. The venue, as we all know, was great, as it always is. Luckily, I didn’t screw it up,” shared Moore. “In all seriousness, the energy we were able to capture that night, was electric. In this strange time with no live music, I thought this could be fun for our fans right now. Crack a cold one around the house, a campfire, deer camp, the beach and enjoy some live music. Hopefully, we have the chance to do it in person soon. Until then, enjoy this live album from my band, my crew, and myself from the Ryman.”

Moore’s current single “Why We Drink” is currently Top 5 at Country radio and climbing. He has eight No. 1 singles and three No. 1 albums. His many new projects in the works, include The Justin Moore Podcast, which reached Apple's Top 5 Podcasts in Music and claimed a spot in the New & Noteworthy category.

The first single will be her duet with Bublé, "Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas."

“I am so excited to announce my new Christmas album ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas.’ I have recorded several Christmas classics like "Holly Jolly Christmas", as well as some new material that I hope might become Christmas classics. I've recorded 5 duets with 5 very special artists as you can see,” states Dolly.

“I figured since everybody probably wouldn't get to celebrate Christmas as usual this year, I wanted to be creative instead of sitting around at the house this summer. So I put on my mask, gloves and practiced social distancing, as well as all of the wonderful musicians and singers, and we proceeded to put together what I think is some of the best work that I've ever done. Kent Wells produced the album. As you know, Kent has been my friend, band leader and producer for many years. He's outdone himself on this one. I'm just hoping that you're gonna love it as much as we loved putting it together, says Dolly.

Recently, Dolly also announced her partnership with Chronicle Books to release Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics. The visual memoir and annotated songbook will give an intimate look at Dolly's enduring career as a songwriter, musician, and Country legend.

Fans will have access to the stories behind the lyrics in Dolly's own words with never-before-seen photographs and memorabilia, bringing them closer to her work than ever before. Also, Recorded Books audiobook form and CD of Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics will be available on Nov. 17 and is currently available for preorder on Amazon.

A new album from Elvis Costello due in October

Elvis Costello’s “We Are All Cowards Now,” is the third song from a new album, ‘Hey Clockface,’ scheduled for release on Oct. 30 by Concord Records.

It was was recorded in Helsinki, Paris and New York and mixed by Sebastian Krys in Los Angeles.

Following the solo recording of “No Flag,” “Hetty O’Hara Confidential” and “We Are All Cowards Now” at Suomenlinnan Studio, Helsinki by Eetü Seppälä in February 2020, Costello immediately traveled to Paris for a weekend session at Les Studios Saint Germain.

Costello tells us, “I sang live on the studio floor, directing from the vocal booth. We cut nine songs in two days. We spoke very little. Almost everything the musicians played was a spontaneous response to the song I was singing. I’d had a dream of recording in Paris like this, one day.”

The ensemble, dubbed “Le Quintette Saint Germain” by Costello, was recruited for these dates by Steve Nieve (who plays grand piano, upright piano, organ, mellotron & melodica) and features Mickaél Gasche on trumpet, flugel horn and serpent, Pierre-François ‘Titi’ Dufour on cello and the drums, percussion and high harmonies of Ajuq.

Reed player Renaud-Gabriel Pion brought many tones and colours to the performances, playing, contrabass clarinet, bass clarinet, Bb clarinet, tenor saxophone, bass flute and cor anglais.

The Paris sessions were recorded by François Delabrière.

The New York sessions were produced by composer, arranger and trumpet player Michael Leonhart in collaboration with guitarists Bill Frisell and Nels Cline and completed, lyrically and vocally by Costello, “via electrical wire.”

“I wanted to write 'Helsinki-Paris-???' on the record jacket like this was a perfume or an advertising agency. ‘London' was a possibility for the third city but London is forever. We’ll be there again. Michael sent this music to me from New York at the perfect time. It connected to elements in both of the previous sessions and completed the picture.”

Speaking of the emotional and dynamic range of the record, Costello said, “I wanted the record to be vivid, whether the songs demanded playing that was loud and jagged or intimate and beautiful.”

The assembled album, 'Hey Clockface' is “An Elvis Costello & Sebastian Krys Production” following on from their work together on Elvis Costello and The Imposters Grammy-winning album 'Look Now.'

The motion picture of “We Are All Cowards Now” by Eamon Singer & Arlo McFurlow features images of flowers & pistols, smoke & mirrors, tombstones & monuments, courage & cowardice, peace love and misunderstanding.
